32 After The Event

I left for work in the morning before Ruby woke up. She was so distraught and cried most of the night. It really broke my heart. I needed the showroom up and running in no time. I had a plan, and I needed to speed things up. It was okay to suck and be a nobody alone, but hearing them use those words on my mate got to me. It took a lot of control for Leon not to go on a rampage. I was determined to never let them have a reason to use those hurtful words on my mate again.

I got to work and went straight to the workshop. My assistant, Godwin, was yet to resume, so I decided to attempt calling Liam. I was hopeful that he might have access to phone service now. He was a businessman, so he could only be away from his phone for some time. Two weeks was a long break. I was hoping to get through this time.

My heart soared when his number began to ring. He answered.

"Jasper! how have you been?" He asked me, as always, and I replied

"I need your help," I said, and he was attentive.
