Chapter 11: Friend

Riccardo POV:

I never knew that Cassandra could be so scary until she threatened to kick my balls. It was quite funny actually, the fact that this tiny woman dared to threaten me. She didn't even know who I truly am. My true identity was still unknown to her. I still couldn't figure out how I should open up with her. But sooner or later, I ought to tell her about it. She deserved to know the real reason why I chose to give up on her seven years ago. It was not because I didn't love her enough. It was because I loved her so much, that I didn't want to risk her safety by being with me.

Cassandra entered her apartment building and I followed her from behind, distancing myself about five meters away. She disappeared into the elevator and I deliberately waited until that thing moved up. Then I took the next trip and reached level seven. Cassie was very superstitious about the number seven, it was her lucky number, so she ended up buying an apartment unit on that level.
