As I lay on the bed, still feeling the lingering ache from the attack, I heard the door creak open, and Ethan stepped into the room. His presence brought a sense of comfort amidst the chaos of my thoughts. He approached me with a gentle smile, taking my hands in his, his touch warm and reassuring.

"Hey, Lily," he said softly, his voice carrying a soothing tone that eased some of my tension.

"You're going to be alright, okay? We're all here for you."

I nodded weakly, grateful for his words of reassurance. "Thank you, Ethan," I murmured, my voice barely above a whisper. His kindness meant the world to me in that moment, a beacon of hope in the darkness that had engulfed me.
