"Stand down. I will take care of it," I told the bodyguard as an idea quickly came to mind.

I knew Max had come to my house in order to fetch his daughter. Now that he had gotten what he wanted from me, he wanted to put an end to everything and take her away.

I'd be damned if I let him have his way.

I proceeded into my sons' bedroom and lay Aurora on the bed.

"Mummy, what is going on? Why is Aurora in our bedroom?" Ella asked.

"Someone is ringing the doorbell," Phyna said.

"Shh, listen to me both of you. You can't come out of your rooms unless I tell you to. Aurora is scared of being alone for now. Keep her company while she sleeps, okay?"

I noticed their attention turn to their sleeping sister and felt relieved. That was enough to keep them busy until I did what I had to.

I ran back to the living room and dragged Agatha back to her bedroom, laying her on the bed. My phone kept ringing as Max kept calling my number and ringing the doorbell at the same time.

"He must be so eager t
