Chapter 45 Are you in more pain?

Elsie laid in bed thinking about Oswald when the doctor came in, he looked at her wounds and said to her,

Miss Elsie, I’m sorry but I will have to keep my eyes on you for a week. The last time I was negligent, you almost brought your corpse back in here.

Elsie smiled but one could see that it didn’t reach her eyes out of embarrassment. She felt sad that she had to stay in a hospital room for a whole week. But she couldn’t say anything about it because of her previous actions.

Ann brought her the necessary documents so she wouldn’t rush to the company once again as instructed by Oswald. Elsie was happy that Ann had thought about this. But then, she said to her,

We both cannot stay out of the company and so, you will have to go back if you don’t want me to go.
