Deteriorating situation

Piper felt embarrassed, and ashamed as she walked out of the building. Her former employees hadn't even had the courtesy to keep their mouths shut, and thoughts to themselves. As the security men saw her outside, making sure she stepped out of the company building, they whispered, and their whispers were so loud that tears pricked Piper's eyes.

When she was away from the company, she wiped her eyes, took in a deep breath, and sat on a bench. She searched for job openings around the area, and after writing them all down, she took a cab to the nearest one.

It was the post of a secretary for a cafe.

She put on her best smile, and walked in.

She was directed warmly, to the main office, and she walked in.

"Job application?" He asked, and she nodded.

"Sit." He said, with a smile, and she sat in the chair opposite him. She took out her documents, and when he checked them out, he took off his glasses.

"Uh… We're not looking for employees." He said, all of a sudden.

"Sorry?" She asked politely
