I lay on the bed on the other side of him. I am nervous. I have never slept in the same bed with anyone before.
"I hope you rest well." He says as I am staring at the ceiling. "I hope you do too. I know it was a long drive." He pulls the top blanket up over his body. It is thin and feels good against my skin, so I pull it up over me and try to close my eyes. It doesn't take as long as I would have thought before I drift off to sleep. I know he is as well because I can hear the shallow beats of his heart, and his breathing evens out. It is almost like a lullaby putting me to sleep.I am woke by the feel of sparks on my cheek and my name being called softly. My eyes flutter open to see Alex squatting next to the bed, stroking my face to wake me.

Alexander, What is he doing? I thought to myself as I started toward where Ivy was standing. Before I could get to the table and ask, I heard him ask for her name and if he could call her sweetie. It feels like everything around me stopped. All I can see is his face. The face I have not seen in fourteen years. It is older, and there is a scar that I don't remember him having above his eye. I have my shower done, and I can't help but pace the room. Alex is in the shower now, and the thought of him in the next room with no clothes on and water running down his body should have my mind running amuck. Alexander, Taking my shower, all I could hear and concentrate on was Ivy's heartbeat. I could hear it racing. I could tell she was pacing around the room. I didn't take my time. I rushed through my shower and got out, half drying off and throwing on my sweat pants. I open the door to see Ivy doing precisely what I thought she would be doing. "I can't lose you," That is all that rings through my head. He isn't mad that I am Royal. He is upset that he didn't know to keep me safe. I don't speak right away. I feel my heart knot at the thought that I hurt him by not telling him. I place my hand on the side of his face. Alexander She is the most amazing woman I have ever seen. I have been lying here watching her sleep for a while, but I can't take my eyes off her. I don't want to wake her. She looks peaceful, and I know she has a hard time sleeping. "Our mate is perfect," Max says as a purr leaves him. "Did you just purr like a cat?" I say as I laugh to myself. "I can't help it. She is so purfect..." We both laugh at his corky humor. But, all joking aside, he is right. She is perfect in all ways. "We have to develop a plan to keep her safe," Max says, and I know he is right. "I know, and the first thing is keeping who she is a secret until the Luna ritual. We need to have it as soon as possible, and now that we are both marked, there should be no delay." "We also need to investigate who is responsible for the death of her parents and her people," Max says with a hostile growl. I feel the same way he does because whoever is responsible for the death of the Royals will come looking for her.
