Sebestian could never have controlled himself as his eyes immediately drifted to the stairs that led up to the roof. His heart, that had felt so filled with emotion a moment earlier, now started hammering in his chest. 

The effect wasn't immediate but it was obvious. The memories around them started to play out in full and then vanished away one by one. The chaos died down, slowly, until it was just the four of them standing there. The other three looked at him with puzzled expressions, each taking their time to process and follow his gaze. Each getting their own look of realisation, pain and panic. 

He felt bad for them, all of them including himself. It was like getting a bucket of ice water dumped on you when you finally got warm under the sun.

The house looked the same, still bright and colourful and inviting. Places weren't bad, Sebestian knew, and Allen loved their home deeply.
