I held my breath. I was sure the wolf before us was just a beast that would pass by. But wolves and werewolves have a strong bond. We can communicate very well. It was common for us to get information from these wild wolves. So, I knew it was a terrible situation.

My eyeballs rolled to the far left. Ace's fingers gripped the wheel so tightly that his knuckles turned white. My ears heard a growl that made my body shake. Ace's eyes stared intently, and I could feel how much power he was holding back. Ace and the wolf exchanged glances for a while. Finally, the wolf turned and ran off into the forest's darkness.

I breathed a sigh of relief. "This is the first time I've ever been afraid of a wild wolf," I said, turning to Ace.
