Chapter Eight

They went to a random place and took their seats. Runa noticed that they were close to Alpha Ace and his pack. “Hi, Runa,” Ryan whispered as he leaned over the table with a smile.

“Hi, little one. Are you eating your vegetables?” She whispered back which he nodded, stuffing some broccoli with cheese on top in his mouth. “Good boy.”

Her father noticed the interaction and smiled, “You’ve become very close to that boy. You do know his father correct?”

Smirking delightfully, she nodded and turned back to her plate, “Of course I know his father. He’s very deadly, wouldn’t want to piss him off.” She joked but her father looked like he was being serious.

“Just be careful when you’re near that pack, you know they are truly devils.” He pointed out.

“Trust me, dad, I’m only there to see Ryan. He makes my days very exciting.” She smiled which her father only pats her head.

She noticed that Marlene and Damien were just down the row, chatting and whatnot. She peered her eyes away from the sight and ate her beef. “Dante stops eating like a pig, I don’t know how you deal with him,” Vinnie says to his mate. She just smiled.

“He’s my pig.” Carson said which Dante just smirked and kisses her lips, “Dante seriously.”

This caused the family to laugh and adore those two. “Molly, where is your mate?” Runa says, Molly just blushing. She pointed to the left and saw her mate already walking over.

“Oh god he’s coming, do I look good?” She asked, touching up her lips again.

Runa rolled her eyes as the tall male walked up to the table, “Hello, it’s nice to meet you all. My name Noah.”

Her father nodded while her mom smiled, “It’s nice to meet you, Noah, take care of our little girl okay?” Her mother says with a sad smile. Noah just nodded and held his hand out to Molly which she blushed.

“Let’s dance Molly.” He suggested which she just took his hand and they went to the ballroom where Runa had noticed most of the people were going after they finished their food.

“He looks like an ass,” Vinnie smirked which his father laughed and Dante laughed.

Runa just judged her family from afar. “I’m going to the dance too,” Runa said, getting up.

“Us as well!” Lily said, grabbing Vinnie with a narrowed look. “Why did you say that Vinnie?” Lily said it in her angry voice which Vinnie did not like and only whimpered as if he was some pup getting scolded.

“Sorry, kisses?” He asked, puckering his lips which she just kissed then quickly and dragged him to the floor.

Runa made it to the ballroom that was underground and liked everything about it. To the lights and the dancing, everything looked so old-fashioned which was apart of her aesthetic.

She felt her hand being tugged and she looked down at Ryan as he wiggled his way next to her, “Hello there.” She said, giving his curls a ruffle.

“Hi, wanna dance?” He asked innocently.

“If you want to.” She said.

“No, I don’t actually, I wanna judge all of these people.” He smirked with a devilish look, “Runa you see that girl with the red?”

Looking to where he was looking she nodded, “Yeah, last year she was dancing and her belly broke and water was everywhere. Now her belly is gone, isn’t that crazy? Where did her big belly go??” He wondered.

Runa chuckled, “She was pregnant Ryan and she has now had her baby.”

“What does pregnant mean?” He asked innocently as he watched the redhead again.

Not sure if she should tell him, she explained it in a way he would understand. “Your mommy was like that once. And guess what, you were inside of her. And when her belly disappeared it was because you appeared and a miracle was made.” She bopped his nose which he just blushed and nodded.

“Okay well, you see that guy? Yeah two years ago he came here with a blonde but now he’s with a brunette! How?” She looked at where he was looking and she had no clue how to answer this question. He was still too young to understand much.

Humming she said, “Well she changed her hair color.” She said randomly which he giggled and nodded.

Then a cleared throat caught Runa’s attention and she looked up to Ace. “Ryan it’s time for bed, let’s go.” Ryan was about to protest because he wants to stay with Runa some more but he cuts him, “I don’t want to hear your complains.”

Ryan huffed and looked back to Runa which Runa just showed a sad smile, “Listen to your dad Ryan.” Ryan placed his head down with a pout as his father picked him up and Ryan got comfortable.

Once again his eyes lingered on her for a moment before walking away and now Runa was all alone, debating on whether to just ditch or go back to the delicious food. Deciding to just ditch she walks to the outside until a hand stops her and when I tell you she gasped, oh dear my she gasped.

She looked up seeing it was Damien. “We need to talk Runa. No more running away.” She grimaced before nodding. “Thank you, please follow me.”

He took her to the water fountain that was in the back and the tension made her want to leave but she wanted to hear what he had to say. She calmed her nerves by inhaling and then her wolf, Stella finally woke up again. “Why is he here Runa?”

“It’s okay Stella, I just want to hear what he has to say.” She said, turning her mind-link off.

She watched his flexed back as he turned around, “Look Runa, I’m sorry. I am. I miss you and I think we can work something out. I want you back.”

Shocked she looked down and choked her tears. “Runa? Can you forgive me, I was such the fool to reject you.” He grabbed her hands, conjoining them together. “Please?”

She pulled her hands away as she felt her tears finally pouring, “You’re wife, Marlene. And your kid and the one on the way. You know what we have can not be anything anymore.”

“I don’t care about that, I should have never rejected you. I don’t understand what’s wrong with me, I love you still.” He was begging now.

“Please Damien you don’t love me, quick the bullshit.” Runa joked as she shook her head and looked away. “It was a mistake coming here. To think you were coming here to say something meaningful.”

Scoffing she turned around but he stopped her, holding onto her wrists tightly. “Let me go, Damien.”

“Not until you admit these tingles you’re feeling right now. Not until you admit you still love me.”

“No no! It’s hurting me, please let me go, Damien!” She said louder but he only glared.

“Stop denying those fucking feelings and admit you still love me.” He growled lowly.

She shook her more and glared back, “No.” Not satisfied with her answer, he pulled her hair down and her body closer to him and placed his lips on hers. He grabs the side of her throat, putting a little pressure as his tongue made its way inside.

“Come on Runa, move those pretty red lips of yours.” He growled as his tongue twisted, lip biting, and completely demolished her mouth.

She shook her head as her tears became so harsher and then suddenly the heavyweight was lifted off and Damien was flicked back.

“You’re sick Alpha Damien. What about Marlene and your baby boy huh?” Ace says as he growled at him, his canines making him a deadly threat.

“Fuck off Alpha Ace, this is none of your fucking business,” Damien said, making Ace smirk.

“Leave now,” Ace said firmly, his eyes turning from grey to black. His wolf begging to be out.

“And if I don’t?” He challenged.

Scoffing he says, “Marlene will know about this. And you know Alpha James wouldn’t like to know her daughter has been violated by a thug like you.”

“Oh shut the fuck up, she’s my mate I’ll do whatever I want.”

“No, you’re not Damien.” Runa interrupted with a little sas.

Then a small tree branch interrupted the intenseness and Marlene waltzed her way through, “Oh there you are babe, Carlos is asking for you. Oh hello Alpha Ace and Runa, am I interrupting something.”

Runa desperately didn’t want her to know what happened and Ace noticed that. “Oh nothing, Alpha Damien is just congratulating me and Runa on our relationship. Isn’t that right love?” He said, placing his arm around her waist and kissing her forehead. Runa blushed.

“O-oh um... right.”

Marlene’s eyes widened, “Oh that’s fantastic, I’m truly happy for you both. Baby let’s go, Carlos is waiting.” And the two were off leaving Runa and Ace alone.

“Are you okay?” He asked.

She nodded and wiped her tears, “I’m fine.” He looked at her though he wanted to know what happened so she sighed, “Five years ago he rejected me for Marlene.”

Blinking, he nodded. “Oh.”

“Yeah, Anyways why are you here?” She wondered as she ran a hand through her hair.

“After taking Ryan to bed I wanted to look for you. You’ve become something he talks about every day.”  He groaned. Runa giggled as she shrugged.

“Would that be a bad thing?” She asked.

He shook his head. “Not really. Just keep him safe.” And then he walked away.

She smiled, feeling her night being brought back up.

Damien probably rejected Runa because with Marlene comes power maybe? Marlene's dad is an Alpha. He probably figured he hit the lottery! Runa is better off without that jerk!!!
