Thirty-One

Alexander sat in his car outside the Sister Sanctuary, staring off into the distance.

He didn't want to go inside because the old brick building was depressing.

He felt a little guilty about not renovating the place, given that his daughter had been there for years before fleeing. But the omegas didn't deserve any kind of luxury.

They were weak links and should be treated accordingly.

His impatience was wearing thin, and he wondered what the incompetent matron was doing inside. He got out of his car, which was parked a short distance from the gate, and ordered the guard to go get the matron.

There was no love lost between Alexander and his daughter, Iris. He didn't care about her at all, but she was his only child and a constant reminder of the Moon Goddess' curse.

He was only keeping an eye on her because he didn't want his subjects to label him a careless father. His thoughts kept returning to her face, her innocent eyes, her naive heart, and her stinking Omega blood.
