Elena:

“I take it that the two of you have managed to solve whatever the conflict and issue was?” Viktor asked, raising an eyebrow at me.

I didn’t bother responding as I didn’t know how to at this point.

Not only did I lose what I was working for, but I also lost my license, and that was something that I was going to be able to say anything about. At least, not until I understood where everything was going.

The fact that I didn’t realize that Mr. Joseph would have sent men after me was something that bothered me more than I could let out. Mostly because I thought that he was being genuine with his words, it just turned out that I was plainly stupid, and that was something that I couldn’t find myself accepting.

Alvize looked at me, clearly expecting me to react, but I simply walked toward the reception. I had to get myself a phone, and considering that I didn’t have a car, I could at least have the hotel get me a cab. “What happened?”
