Chapter 41

Elena:

I sat on the edge of the bed as I got lost in my thoughts.

The door was knocked, making me frown as I sat up, and knowing that it wasn’t Alvize, I couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow.

I got up from the bed, and opened the door to see Lia standing. She held a tray for me, and my heart dropped. The woman was in OUR place, and instead of me being the one to get her something to eat or drink, she was doing so for me.

“Lia…”

“When I am upset, I like to drink tea. So, I figured that I would get you something to drink,” she said, entering the room, not bothering to wait for me to reject the cup of tea.

She took it to the coffee table that was in front of the couch, I sighed and walked toward her. She handed me a cup, and I looked down at it and she took her own cup, curling up on the couch.

“I am sorry, I should have been more polite at least…”

“Alvize is a brother to me, and not a stranger. So, you don’t need to worry about that.” She said, stopping me. The fact that she was silent
