Chapter fifty-six

Captain Depay let out a small grunt and collapsed tiredly into one of the seats nearby.

"Ah, my back is killing me." He groaned.

Detective Joha beckoned onto the waitress.

Detective Joha made sure to take a quick look around the place before settling into one of the seats calmly. Being a detective for many years has taught him a lot of things. Being aware of his environment was one of them.

The waiter came back with a tray of food and drinks as detective Joha ordered.

"Captain Depay, let's eat first. We need a clear head to continue this task of ours…" Detective Joha said to the sullen-looking Captain. They had followed all the leads detective Joha had suggested and it all led to nothing.

Tired and without any more clues to lead them, they had come to fill their empty stomachs.

Captain Depay sighed tiredly. "I think I should go see the commissioner and tell him the truth. His daughter is gone and can't be found…The earlier he starts to make peace with that fact, the better for a
