ARTHUR’S POV

Accepting a weak human as my mate was one thing but having to bear her disobey my orders which even my subordinates won’t do was something I wasn’t sure I could take from her.

Once I heard Jeremy and Dennis had been locked up by Maxwell, I went to free them myself.

“Oh thank goodness… Arthur. I thought I would probably freeze to death from the floor of this dungeon if you had stayed an hour later…” Dennis grunted as soon as he saw me standing before his cell. I ordered that his cell be unlocked at once.

He dragged himself up when the cell gates creaked open. He walked up to me, and said, “I knew you would make it. Great Alphas don’t die that easily…pfft, witch’s curse?” his eyes shone from delight.

“I’m sorry you had to suffer this man,” I said, meaning my words. Knowing my cousin, he wouldn’t have hesitated to have their heads chopped off if I hadn’t returned.

“It’s always my pleasure to serve my Alpha…” he dipped his head with a grin. “So tell me, how did you do it?”
