Axel
It has been three days since Rosalind and I had the conversation in her room, and we haven't talked about it ever since. After the conversation, we just slept in each other's arms; and when the morning came, I didn't see Rosalind by my side.
Frankly, I think things have changed—but not for the better.
I don't know why, but Rosalind feels...distant, somehow. It's not like she's fully ignoring me, but she draws on a clear line whenever I try to be intimate with her.
"Oh, hey," I said, greeting her as she went inside the room.
She paused and stared at me, and I swear I saw a hint of regret in her eyes. I tilted my head to the side in confusion. Something is definitely up.
"Uh, yeah...hey. I was just passing by to get," she looked around the room until her eyes came across an empty water bottle on her bedside table. "this!" she walked over to the bottle and picked it up.
I raised one of my ey
RosalindI have been counting down the days when we are finally going to proceed with the next mission. Axel still hasn't told me the full details of the plan, but he said that he would relay it to us on the train. I just wish that it does not concern any strip clubs or weird-ass men.Although there was still a lot in my mind—that being my family and Axel, I find that just burying them inside my mind is the best way to go.I’m not yet ready to talk to Axel about these fluttering feelings, so I change the topic whenever I feel like we’re leading to that certain subject. As for my family, I didn’t even bother speaking to them ever since that dreaded day. I can see in my father’s eyes that he wants to talk to me, but I just ignore him in any way that I can. I even had Sebastian bring my food up to my room just so I could avoid sitting down with my family at the dinner table. It was now the afternoon, and it wa
RosalindYou know how I said that this train reminds me of the one in Harry Potter? Well, their similarities just keep on piling up.As we sat in silence, a cart full of sweets and treats made its way over to us. But get this—instead of a friendly old woman pushing the cart, it was a handsome young man instead. I called him over because I wanted to buy some of his treats. He stopped in front of our seats and gave us a friendly smile. His cheek dimples became more evident when he smiled, and I had the urge to coo at him. He's so cute!"Good day, sirs!" he greeted. He then looked towards me and bowed his head slightly. "And good day to the beautiful maiden as well."I felt my cheeks heating up. He's cute and respectful! So different from a certain someone I know.He gestured at the different snacks in his cart. "Could I get you something today?""No," Axel quickly said, making me glare at him."Sorry," I said ap
RosalindAfter a little bit less than an hour, we finally made it into Bernadok. I was still quite upset with Axel's blunder a while ago, but I decided to let it go since there's no use crying over spilled milk.I wandered my eyes around to see the different views of the city. Unlike the last city that we went to, Bernadok had a much more modern feel to it. That's why it's called the Technology Center of the country. This is maybe why Luna Kirsten opted to have her surgery here. Their technology and methods are definitely the highest in the country when it comes to medicine and surgery. That's why it's expensive to live here too.My eyes lit up in surprise when I saw a robot bunny in one of the shops. It was so similar to a real-life bunny, but it could do various tricks like spinning and jumping over obstacles. I leaned against the glass to take a closer look at the bunny and giggled when I saw it doing tricks.I heard Axel chuckle nex
RosalindI was still confused as to what Doctor Sir Jerry was implying when he said that I should just sit still and look pretty, but I didn't have enough time to process my thoughts since Luna Kirsten had already opened the door to his office.A beautiful woman clad in large pearls and gold jewelry came into the room. She smiled when she saw Doctor Sir Jerry, and not a single wrinkle was seen on her face. However, her smile quickly morphed into a frown when she saw me.I stood up from my seat and bowed at her in respect. "Greetings," I said. She cleared her throat as I lifted my head up."And...who might this be?" she asked, turning to Doctor Sir Jerry."Oh," the doctor said. He went closer to me and slung his arm over my shoulders. "This is my new assistant—Rosie. Isn't she a beauty?"Luna Kirsten walked closer to me and scrutinized my face. I leaned back a little bit since I was uncomfortab
Rosalind We heard a horrid scream from the surgery room, and we all looked knowingly at each other. Doctor Sir Jerry had a satisfied smile on his face, and he gestured me to come and follow him. "You stay here first. Come in after a few minutes," he instructed Axel and Sebastian. The two men nodded their heads as Doctor Sir Jerry and I went back to the surgery room. Once we got there, I couldn't help but gasp out in shock. Luna Kirsten's once beautiful face now morphed into one that looked out of this world—almost extra-terrestrial. Her cheeks were as sharp and angular as knives, her chin elongated, her lips protruding, her nose as high as towers, and her eyes were different sizes. I covered my mouth with my hand to suppress the bubble of laughter that threatened to come out of my mouth. "What the hell did you do to my face?" she exclaimed, her voice muffled from the implants and fillers on his face.
Rosalind"Trina?" Axel asked, his eyes showing recognition.I looked the girl up and down and suddenly felt insecure. She was wearing a skin-tight body con dress, and it looked like she and her friends were out for a party. They had shiny purses in their hands and had an extravagant aura to them, so I hid behind Axel as they conversed.I don't know who this girl is, but I could tell that she and Axel know each other by the way they gazed at each other."Yeah, I'll see you at the club!" Trina shouted out to her friends as she jogged over to where we were. She peered up at Axel with shining eyes and displayed a playful smile on her face."Oh, fuck. It really is you!"Axel frowned and scratched the back of his head."My friends and I were walking towards the club when they pointed over to a hot guy walking ahead of us. I thought that you looked familiar, and I wasn't wrong. How have you been? I
Rosalind"Hi. My name's Leon. You are?""Rosalind. Nice to meet you," I said politely.I really didn't like the way that he was looking at me, so I just focused my eyes on the pointed edge of the table. I could also feel the gaze of his three other friends, so I touched my face to see whether it had something on it.I breathed out a sigh of relief when they finally turned their attention to Trina and others. "Hey, move over for the pretty lady," Leon said.Trina's eyebrows furrowed. "What do you mean? Us pretty girls are already seated."Leon scoffed, then glanced back at me. "Not you. Scoot over so the prettiest lady could sit down."Trina clicked her tongue and instructed the other girls to make some space. Honestly, I just wanted to go home because I felt like I didn't belong here. However, I just couldn't leave Axel all alone.I sighed and tried to sit down, but I noticed that the only space le
TrinaI bit my lips and clenched my fists in anger as I looked at Rosalind dragging Axel away from the club."You okay, Trina?" Deborah asked, trying to console me, but I slapped her hand away and continued glaring at their retreating figures.I closed my eyes and took in deep breaths because I couldn't afford to have an outburst right here. It'll only ruin my reputation.I knew from the start that Rosalind was a good-for-nothing girl. Yes, I was a little bit dazed when I first saw her because she was so pretty—wait, scratch that! She's pretty but not as pretty as me. I hated the way that Axel looked at her and even hated how innocent she was acting. I know deep down that she's just keeping up that persona to impress men. She most likely has a bitchy personality in reality. To be honest, I was really happy when I saw Axel walking down the street, but she just had to ruin it for me. I've liked Axel since high school bec
