I took the initiative to sit at the farthest seat where I could be alone since I genuinely didn't want to interact with anyone on this very boat.

I wish I would have brought my earphones too in order to tune out Maeve's shrill and annoying voice, but it was too late now. We were currently in the middle of the waters, cruising through the ocean breeze.

"Did I surprise you? You didn't expect me to be here, right?" she asked as she circled her arms around Cupid's biceps.

My eyes lingered on their arms for a couple of seconds, and I had the urge to smile in satisfaction when I saw Cupid removing her arms away from his.

He cleared his throat and shook his head. "Cyrus already told me that you're going to be joining on the last day."

She pouted. "What? I told my dad to keep this a secret so I could surprise you. Now, everything's ruined," she whined.

"It's alright. I wouldn't be surprised anyway," Cupid said, making her frown deeper.
