Isaac’s pov

Killing was a lot easier than I thought, and it would scare me if I wasn’t too busy protecting the Winter Bone pack, my pack, from getting taken over.

‘This is necessary,’ Linus reminded me.

But seeing the bodies of dead men and women around me did nothing to convince me. It was hard to differentiate who was from my pack or who was the enemy.

But there was no time to think about all those who had died, not when there were still people attacking us from every side.

Things were slowing down, but they weren’t over.

‘Some of them are leaving. My son pulled through.’ Grandpa said through the link to every soldier and person fighting.

We saw a bunch of wolves and soldiers walk back, only to be attacked by their former allies.

‘Do we help them, beta Isaac?’ A soldier near me mindlinked me, unsure of what to do. These were the same people that had just tried to kill us.
