In the Hands of the Foes

"I made lunch for us to eat before you leave." Luna of the Nightstar Pack said.

"Thank you for everything. But really..." He paused when the alpha's eyes lessened, he could see the sorrow in them. "Fine." He said and patted the alpha's back.

While eating, the alpha and his luna spoke to him with a new profound interest in him and he realized they were stalling. His stomach dropped, he was also going to miss them nonetheless, he couldn't extend his stay. He had a daughter waiting for him so she would go to carry out her duty, then after she returned, they would rule their pack side by side, just as they had planned.

He rose and toasted. Alpha and his luna's shoulders slumped as they toasted back. They finished eating and when the plates were cleaned from the table, they asked if he wanted something to be packed for him. He said no.

The alpha pulled him to his office and used more than three hours explaining some things Alpha Hunter was sure didn't have to do with him. By the
