“Don’t say that,” I purred, turning his head so that his lips would meet mine instead, but he stopped me right on time. Unlike me, he didn’t have so much to drink during the party and still had his wits and strength about him.

Wait. Was that why he was reluctant to touch me? Maybe he thought I was drunk and unaware of what I was doing. While that was sweet of him, it was the last thing I needed at the moment. I knew what I wanted and what I wanted was his hands on my body.
