Chapter 31: Interrogation

“Get your hands off me, please,” I pleaded, but it all fell on deaf ears. I tried struggling with the chains, but my efforts were futile. I looked over at Damon with pleading eyes, but he just stood there, staring coldly at me.

“We didn’t do anything wrong; let us go, free us, and we’d leave your pack this instant,” I shouted panickedly. Was this because we had delayed leaving the pack? Of course, it couldn’t be that, but I was confused and at a loss for words. What other reason could Damon have for asking his guards to bundle us up in chains?

Turning around, I looked over to see Kylian struggling with the chains; he was very strong, and he almost broke loose. He used his powers, and two guards came crashing to the floor. That was when the chief guard ordered them to use mercury on him, which immediately made him weak.
