Chapter 39: A Call

Roxanne.

“What did you say?” He asked again, making me take a deep breath. This was what I was scared about; I didn’t know how he would take it.

“Kylian has the kids, Damon,” I said. My eyes were almost watering again as the thought of him hurting the kids crossed my mind.

“But how’s that even possible? Aren’t they supposed to be in LA? Damon asked in confusion. I took a deep breath and sniffed in, so I could stop the tears from flowing.

“When he came to the pack that day at the mating ball, he told me he had brought the kids along as he couldn’t keep them back in LA. He said something about them being on the outskirts of the town with someone. Thinking of it now, I feel very stupid for not insisting on knowing my children’s particular location. I’m such a bad mother.” I cried, whimpering, as Damon pulled me in for a hug.

"Ssssshhhh,” He said in a bid to stop me from crying as he rocked my back. He used his thumb to wipe off my tears and kissed my forehead.
