“Morning Sierra,” I said with a smile as I carried her breakfast tray into her room.“Hi,” she said looking at me tentatively.“I brought you breakfast, you must be starving,” I said to her.“I am a little hungry,” she said and sat up straighter in the hospital bed.I put the tray down on the trolley table and pulled it closer to her bed so she could eat comfortably. Every morning I’d escort Sierra down to the dining hall for breakfast before joining Damon in his office to help lighten his workload. I’d meet up with her and Jett for lunch and again for dinner. I woke to sunlight filtering through the still open curtains and I could feel the chill in the air. I had left my bedroom door open in case Sierra needed anything during the night.
