Choice

Raymond stands between Xavier and I. Xavier is still on the ground recovering from the fierce blow. He coughs up blood and my heart shatters. There is only one way this will work.

“ I can take care of him, Xavier!” I shout to him and he shakes his head. He is one stubborn cone to crack.

Raymond growls fiercely at me when I try to take a step forward.

“ Let Xavier and the others go. I will fight you.” I demand confidently.

Raymond sneers, “ I will let them go but that doesn't guarantee their safety in the future.”

It won't guarantee if I don't win this fight and the only way in doing so is by winning.

“ I know but let them go. You have already done enough to them.

Xavier is back on his feet though he limps as he moves to the truck.

‘ I will send some warriors to help you.’ He mind links me and I simply shake my head.

‘ I have taken down men bigger than him.’ I reply and he gives me a confident small smile.

Like promised he makes it to the truck and the engine comes to life.
