Staring at the undesirable vegetables on her plate, Serenity picked them one by one with the fork and placed them on Kieran’s plate. The Alpha, by now, formed the habit of eating everything Serenity put on his plate, treating this as something normal. Being exposed so much unusual scenes these days, the pack members started to become numb as well.
Then, her eyes lingered on the pudding beside Kieran’s plate greedily, and she stated, “Alpha, if you are not eating that pudding, can I have it?”
Before Kieran could reply, she snatched the pudding and dug into it. Kieran stared at her helplessly and said, “You can ask the kitchen staff for more if you want to, but you shouldn’t indulge too much into it.”
Serenity smiled. “Is that so? I thought food other than meal times wasn’t available in the pack? Isn’t it wrong for you to bend the rules due to me?”
Richard didn’t know how the Alpha tole
Serenity hugged the pillow in her hand. Her eyes glared at the door, filled with grievances. Because the man invited her to sleep with him, she took extra steps to pretty herself up, but in the end, he betrayed her hopes by deciding to work late in his office. All her previous nervousness turned to anger. She decided to give herself five more minutes before she barged into her mate’s office to create a scene. As if her thoughts were conveyed to him telepathically, the door to the room opened, and Kieran walked in. Serenity scoffed. “Oh, you are here. I thought you were planning to spend the night tonight in your office.”The Alpha arched one of his eyebrows. “You were waiting?”“Don’t be ridiculous. I sleep very lightly. I am simply afraid of you ruining my sleep. Once my sleep is interrupted, it is hard for me to fall back to sleep again.” Serenity made up a convincing excuse.Kieran solemnly respond
Serenity stayed in the kitchen for a while, and with the help of the cooks there, she made a few snacks Ashley might enjoy during her pregnancy. After everyone got to learn about Ashley’s condition, they were all equally happy and willing to contribute. Once Serenity was done packaging the snacks, she planned to go over at Ashley’s house and check up on her on the way.She hummed a soft tone as she made her way over to the house when she came to face with a disturbing sight.Ashley’s mate grabbed her by her hair as he pulled her out of the door. While tears ran down the poor woman’s face, rage was written all over the man’s expression. He threw her violently on the floor.“You, whore! Get out of my house! I don’t know whose child you are pregnant with! You expect me to be the father of your bastard! You dirty bitch! Get lost with your dirty child before I kill you off.”Ashley begged. “No, dear, what are you talking about? This is our child. I didn’t chea
It could be seen that the Alpha’s words incurred dissatisfaction from many of the pack members. Although werewolves were murderous creatures, they were protective of their pack members. Even though Serenity was the Alpha’s mate, their bias against humans existed, and they couldn’t accept her meddlesome behavior.Voices of objections were raised.“Pardon me, Alpha. I believe that the Luna is at fault for interfering.”“Yes, family matters should be left to be dealt with themselves. She suggested the breakdown of something as holy as the mate bond. This is clearly blasphemy. It makes sense he would get a little aggressive.”“And Ashley’s behavior has always been strange. It is fine for her mate to be doubtful. The Luna doesn’t understand because she is a human, but the werewolves are naturally possessive of their mate.”If Kieran was not here, Serenity would have folded her sleeves and
“There was nothing wrong in what I said. Since the entire pack is resistant to this idea, it would be better for them to learn that there is an alternative route. Those like Ashley can step out to seek for help as well. If we keep on doing it in private, barely a difference will be made. And it is not as though this matter is something to be ashamed of. The abuser is the one who should be humiliated.” Serenity held her ground with resolution.“I can’t actually guess whether you are ridiculously dumb or actually smart,” Kieran uttered in frustration. “Usually, you can come out with sly plans, but when you need to act with caution, it seems that skull of yours is empty.”This fucking bastard.Serenity took in a deep breath. “I understand what you mean, but I am not wrong either. You see, I can’t stand the bastards who abuse the weak, and I think for something like this I need to make a strong point. And I wasn&
Kieran had been busy these couple days. Serenity also knew that she had to sit in her infirmary as well after taking break from her work for all these days. These dyas, she noticed the strange eyes she received, but that did not bother her. Those who were close to her weerre willing to talk to her although few of them did not agree with her point of view.According to Kieran, Ashley’s mate will be punished to match his crime, and although Serenity was curious as to what the consequences would be, one look from Kieran was enough for her to get that she was better off not knowing. Even though she had been exposed to Kieran taking lives in front of her eyes, she was still too delicate to bear the brutality of the werewolf society here. From what she had heard from her mate and everyone around, many expressed their dissatisfactions. Because of that, Kieran had issues to deal with. The infirmary was relatively calm today. Leaning against her chair, as the fresh breez
"The acceptance of your application to the esteemed Silverclaw Pack has been granted," informed the middle-aged man with an air of nonchalance.Although his appearance was a well-indicator of his position with a domineering aura and disciplined expression, the hint of warmth and compliment couldn't be hidden from his eyes. Etched lines on his face bore witness to the weight of his age, but they also revealed the unmistakable pride that swelled within him.At the mere utterance of those words, a pair of hazel eyes instantly ignited with radiant joy. A slender smile stretched across her lips, blossoming into a wide grin that reached the corners of her eyes, a vivid reflection of the sheer elation and excitement pulsating within her. She fought back the urge to release a joyous squeal that danced on the tip of her tongue, exerting every ounce of self-control to contain her excitement."Oh my god! Is this truly happening, Alpha?" she quivered, her voice tinged with a hint of disbelief.Fo
Serenity stood before her wooden closet. Her lips were pressed together in a thoughtful line while her hand crossed her chest, deep in contemplation. Her gaze roamed across the assortment of clothing options that lay before her, searching for the perfect selection to pack. From the information she had gathered, she knew that the climate in the Silverclaw Pack was drastically colder than her current location, with half the year blanketed in a snowy embrace. As a mere human, she was acutely aware of her vulnerability to the bitter cold, unlike the resilient and fur-cladded werewolves. She carefully chose each piece of warm attire, meticulously arranging them in her luggage next. Then, she turned her attention to gathering her other necessities, methodically cross-checking them against her list to ensure nothing vital was overlooked.A voice cut through her concentration."Are you seriously not reconsidering it?" questioned her friend after noticing her jolly friend.Serenity turned her
Serenity firmly pushed her reluctant friend out of her room by her shoulder. Jane, however, continued to protest, her voice filled with urgency, "Listen, honey, I have so much more to say!""No, absolutely not, I am not entertaining that any longer."After that, Serenity pushed her friend away from the room and locked the door behind her, shutting out the persistent sound of Jane's futile knocks. The echoes of her friend's pleas fell on deaf ears. The last thing she wanted was to be subjected to another round of nonsensical rambling.Serenity then slowly made her way into the room. Taking a deep breath, Serenity allowed herself to bask in the returning tranquility and resumed her packing with a calm mind. A melodious hum escaped her lips,Her gaze drifted to the photograph resting on the shelf, and she reached out for it. In the picture, a happy couple stood- their smiles radiant- while a little girl was present between them- a beacon of joy. They were the epitome of a blissful famil
