Chapter 23

Killian's POV

I stared at the guard in front of me, my voice filled with icy coldness as I demanded, "What on earth do you think you're doing?" Standing before me was the very same guard I had explicitly instructed not to provide the rogue with any sustenance, yet he was now handing the rogue a piece of bread. A deep frown creased my face as I realized the guard had blatantly disregarded my orders.

Visiting the rogue was not part of my original plan, as I wanted to avoid unnecessary complications. However, my wolf urged me to check on her, and I had learned to trust my wolf's instincts—they had never led me astray before.

Reluctantly, I decided to pay the rogue a visit, even though I anticipated trouble.

As it turned out, my wolf's intuition proved correct once again. While the kitchen appeared immaculate and free of any mess, that did not grant the guard the authority to defy my commands.
