131 - Regret

“Tsk. What a hassle.” David looked angry with my decision. How stupid of me, to have lost his trust and let him down.

The rest of our journey continued not so pleasantly. In the center seat of the carriage, only my baby and I were silent. David, however, decided to move and sit in the front seat, with his subordinate at the wheel.

The reason was that he wanted to be more vigilant on this last leg of our journey. Even though I knew he wanted to avoid me.

Our fight was my fault, and it made me feel even more lonely. I could only hold my baby who was sleeping peacefully. His breathing could be heard purring in my arms, which for some reason made me jealous.

'If only I was as innocent as the baby, maybe I wouldn't have to feel this much pressure and guilt.'
