I was flipping through the pages of the novel that I was reading when I heard full steps outside my closed door. At first I did not give it any thought, there were maids in the house .They cleaned the house most of the time so it was not something out of the blue to hear their footsteps at twilight as some of them stayed behind after work in the servant quarter. Maybe one of them has come to this floor to take something. I returned my focus back to reading but then I heard footsteps again,like someone is walking up and down the stairs time and again.I looked at the clock on my nightstand.It was around six thirty.My eyebrows furrowed who could it .

Most of them returned to their rooms by now and the servant quarter is outside the house .Who could be it? If a person needs something then she must be gone by now but I can still hear footsteps.Maybe I am just being paranoid.All the incidents that happened these days have taken a toll on me.No one is here to attack me it is just
