Escaped

Evelyn's POV

"It should be about time," I muttered, breathing heavily. I had been running for the past ten minutes with no signs of seeing the border of the pack

At that moment, I couldn't help but think I was going the wrong way. But then that didn't seem to be the case as I could see that the forest was getting denser and denser which meant I was approaching the border.

I sighed in relief noticing this. I was going to be out of this place in no time, I just couldn't wait. I had to leave as soon as I could. Also, I wanted to thank the old man who had helped me.

Even though I didn't know this particular route, I was sure that it led out of the pack and was sure I wouldn't be captured.

For a moment, I wanted to give up as the pain raking through my body was very intense. Since I had been running, the pain showed no signs of reducing and I lay increased with each step I took.

I would have long collapsed if not for my strong will. I couldn't help but sigh as I looked around. I knew I had to do all on my own to leave this damn place, I couldn't stay any longer.

"She's still around here, make sure to find her, she mustn't escape!"

"Yes sir!"

A familiar voice drifted into my ears and I couldn't help but shiver. What the hell? They found me so quickly.

What was I going to do? I had come this far so I couldn't allow myself to get captured again. Initially, I had thought that they would stop searching and wanted to rest a bit, but it seemed like I was wrong.

They had gone back to regroup. Now, I began to wonder if I was right following the route the old man had shown me. But then, I would have been caught if it was not for the old man.

As long as I could keep on with my pace, I was sure that I would be able to escape, there was no way they were going to be able to capture me.

Thinking like this, I suddenly felt a burst of strength in my body and I sprinted with all my strength, caring less if I made any noise.

"That's her!"

"Follow her, don't allow her to escape!"

Voices came behind me and could feel cold gazes on me. At this moment, I knew I had to rely on luck to escape or else I was dead.

"If you let her slip from your hands again, I'll skin you lot alive!" A cold voice resounded, making me shiver.

Alpha Kyle had come personally. What the hell was I thinking? I didn't think there was a chance for me to escape since he had come himself. But then I wasn't going to give up, I had to leave.

Even though the pain raking through my body didn't subside even a little I continued running. I was covered in blood as all my injuries had reopened and I was bleeding at the moment.

I was rather going to die than let Alpha Kyle and his men capture me. I had to escape no matter what was going to happen. my injuries continued to worsen as I ran with all my might, but I could care less.

All that was in my mind was to escape from this hell of a place. To me, being in hell was better than staying in the pack. So I was going to rather die and meet Hades in hell than be captured alive.

"Fools, what do you think you're doing, you couldn't even outrun an injured girl!" A cold voice came scolding all the guards who were following me with all their might.

"Bunch of trash!"

"It seems like I'll have to act myself."

I couldn't help but shiver when I heard the last statement. I had to think of something if Alpha Kyle was going to make a move himself. I couldn't continue to run mindlessly.

My mind raced as I racked my brain for ideas, but unfortunately, my brain was as blank as a sheet of paper.

"Do you think you could run away from me!"

A cold voice sounded right behind me.

At this moment, I couldn't help but gulp in some saliva before increasing my speed. I couldn't allow him to catch me. I didn't even notice when he got near me.

"Come back here!" Alpha Kyle's cold voice came and immediately, I felt an invisible pressure pressing down on me.

At this moment, my legs gave way and I fell to the floor. No matter how much I wanted to move, the invisible pressure pressing down on me didn't allow me to move.

I shivered as footsteps approached me. I had to think of something, I couldn't allow myself to be taken back to the pack.

"Here you are bitch." Alpha Kyle chuckled immediately after he got to me.

Immediately, I turned around, picked up a handful of dust, and threw it into his eyes. Next, the pressure pressing down on me disappeared.

Before any of the guards came back to their senses, I stood up and sprinted at full speed. But this time, I wasn't running mindlessly. After covering some distance, I immediately hid behind a huge stone.

"Find her!" Alpha Kyle's roar resounded through the forest just as I hid behind the stone.

I couldn't help but shiver, hearing his roar, I knew he was angry. I was doomed if I was to be captured once again.

"Sir, I don't think we'll be able to continue with our search..." One of the guards shuttered as he approached Alpha Kyle.

"Why?" Alpha Kyle frowned.

"We are already in the territory of another pack."

I couldn't help but sigh in relief when I heard this. This meant that I was safe, but then I couldn't rejoice so quickly, what if he insisted on searching for me?

"Fine let's head back."

Alpha Kyle's voice came after sometimes. Hearing this, I couldn't help but sigh in relief. Even though I could hear the reluctance in his voice, I knew he had no other choice but to head back.

But then, it seems like the guards were in for it as they would have to shoulder Alpha Kyle's anger. But then, I could care less about it, that was none of my business.

After some time, their footsteps disappeared into the forest and I was sure they had headed back.

"I think I heard the roar from here!"

"Yeah, I think so!"

"But wait, who's hiding behind that stone!"

"It must be either a or a rogue, let's capture the person, the pack lacks maids anyway, bedsides the Alpha might praise us for it!"

Voices drifted into my ears before I could breathe in a sigh of relief. I knew that I was doomed as it seemed to be the voices of the guards of the pack I was in.
