Present day.
Sophie woke up in a dark cell after she felt water splashing over her. She sat up immediately.
She was in shackles, she realized that as she tried moving her hands and legs. She was on the bare floor.
She looked up and saw two fierce guards standing over her. Last night's experience flooded into her memory.
Prina was hot with anger. She could feel her trying to override her. But she kept calm. One of the guards removed her shackles and pulled her up.
Prina had finally taken over her.
"Argh!" Sophie groaned hard, clenching her fist. She knew well that fighting now was not a good idea but it was too late. She headbutt the guard close to her.
He fell flat on his back. He seemed weak to Sophie but he couldn't help him. This was Prina's time.
She grabbed the other one and threw him to the wall. She dashed out of the cell.
She felt a heavy blow at the back of her head. She fell on her face. Prina cowered and shrunk from the surface. She turned slightly to see her beater. It was David, the one that saved her life yesterday.
"I knew you will fight them. Do you want another one?" he raised his hand high to strike her again.
Sophie shook her head. She couldn't take that. She was strong but David was ten times stronger.
"Good choice" he pulled her to her feet and dragged her out by her hair.
She looked at herself. She was just trying to get a sleep on her bed yesterday but she woke up now in a cell.
Her body had changed, the freshness had been altered by some discoloration and blemishes. The floor on which she slept had left a souvenir of drawings on her body.
Her flowing dress was now stuck on her slim body due to wetness. It dripped leaving water in her trail as they walked out into the yard.
A guard came to them instantly and handed a cup to David.
David took it from him and gave to her.
"Drink that" he said.
Sophie hesitated. She felt the drink was poisoned or harmful in some ways.
"Drink, now!" David yelled at her.
"Your Alpha has spared my life" she said shakily.
"Yes, you either drink that or die" he chuckled wickedly.
Sophie thought it would be better to die by poison than dying by David's blade. She gulped it down her throat quickly.
He held her arm and dragged her to the center of the yard. There were a lot of people present and there was a huge pile of firewood arranged to make a bonfire.
Sophie looked around and caught a glimpse of Alpha Jones, her mate. She stared dead at him. She didn't really understand what was going on. She was spared yesterday and now they wanted to burn her alive?, she kept wondering.
A grey haired and grey bearded funny looking man walked to her using a long stick as his third leg.
"She has drunk it, Mage" David let out to the man.
"That's good. Let's get started" the Mage turned to the firewood. "Fire!" he screamed.
A guard came with a torch and lit the firewoods.
Sophie realized what was happening immediately. A mage with a fire after she had drunk some potion.
"No, no, no!" she cried and suddenly broke free from David. "You should better kill me. Just kill me" she rushed to Alpha Jones.
"I'm sorry, Alpha" David apologized as she grabbed her from behind.
"Kill you, no. You wanted to live just yesterday" Alpha Jones shook his head.
"Bring her here now!" the Mage exclaimed impatiently.
David dragged her back to him.
"What's her name?" the Mage asked Sophie.
Sophie sealed her mouth shut. She would rather than die than let this happen to her.
"What is her name?" the Mage repeated with a threatening voice.
Sophie remained quiet. The worst they could do was to kill her and that would be better for her. She kept reliving the thought.
"You heard him, right?" David whispered to her. He drove a punch into her belly before she could process what he just said.
"Prina" Sophie didn't know when the name escaped from her lips.
The Mage moved closer to the fire while chanting intensely. The fire burnt violently making weird noises. And suddenly, it went out.
The Mage was obviously surprised as he watched with his mouth wide.
"What happened, Mage?" Alpha Jones asked anxiously.
"Her mate, where is her mate?" the Mage asked terrified.
"She hasn't found her mate yet" Matt quickly responded.
"Are you sure? Whoever that is, has a hell of power. We might need to kill him" the Mage nodded.
"Lit it up and try again. Nothing will stop this" Alpha Jones commanded.
The bonfire was lit again. The Mage started his chants and the fire grew fiercely once again.
"Prina!" the Mage yelled suddenly.
Sophie felt a strong push in both direction. She swerved back and forth.
"Prina!!" he yelled again.
Sophie felt pain all over her body starting from her back. She tried to fight it but it was unbearable. She broke down in tears.
"Prina!!!" the Mage yelled for the third time.
Sophie jumped forth high above the ground. She landed with a heavy thud. Despite how hard she fell. She felt okay but light.
She quickly stood up to her feet.
"Argh!!!!" she groaned loudly. She knelt down and started crying.
Prina was gone. She had become wolfless. She stared at where Alpha Jones was standing. He was no longer there. Like he had vanished.
"She has been expelled, Prina or whatever she was called was gone and gone for good" the Mage announced happily.
"Now you can live. We don't have to watch over our shoulders" David smiled and walked away.
Sophie was broken. It kept getting worse. She was contemplating how to cope with her life as a slave but now she had become worse.
Prina gone, after she just found a mate that didn't want anything to do with her.
Alpha Jones walked in hurriedly. He was unsettled. He felt bad a bit about the decision he made but that was the right thing to do, he consoled himself. Sophie shouldn't be left with her wolf. She was dangerous and she would just be like her father. But the Moon Goddess was just a poor matchmaker, to have made someone like her his mate. Alpha Jones had vowed never to take any mate. Even if she was the best in all ramifications. To him, love was a weakness and a tendency to make bad decisions. It would distort judgement. And that wouldn't be good for the cause he had chosen to fight for. If he dwelled in love, he might become one of those he used to fight against. That was always his thoughts. Luckily, he had never ran into any mate until Sophie. He was certain she was the one. The expulsion of her wolf made Gate, his wolf writhed in pain but he would survive it. They would survive it. He turned around on hearing footsteps. He saw David coming in with a big smile on his face.
"Just follow me" David insisted.Sophie walked after him reluctantly. She had just gotten to the slaves' quarters after the horrible experience. She had accepted her fate and decided to make the best use of it.She retired to the slave's quarters immediately and now David had come to bother her again."Alpha Jones wants to see you, maybe you should walk like your legs are not older than your age" he said to her without looking back.Sophie caught up with him. She was optimistic. She thought Alpha Jones might have wanted to confess his feelings."Why does he want me?" she asked anxiously."He doesn't 'want' you" David emphasized. "He only wants to see you and you can ask him yourself" he shunned her."Okay" Sophie sighed and kept quiet. David seemed to have already seen her mind through her eyes. They continued walking to the throne room. Sophie's heart leapt on each step taken by her.Her eyes fell on Alpha Jones as they entered into the throne room. She kept looking at him to make h
Sophie was taken outside to the quarters. There were a lot of people there coming out of the small rooms. They were the slaves of the pack and she had become one of them. She felt ashamed as they all made her the center of their attention. All eyes were on her. She stood there cluelessly not knowing where to head."Just make yourself useful" a woman said in an unfriendly manner.Sophie didn't respond. She just kept staring at her. She wondered what they were doing or what they were supposed to be doing.Someone tapped her from behind. She turned around and meet the eyes of a smiling older woman. The woman veered off and signaled to Sophie to follow her. "I am Wendy, I am in charge of this place" she smiled at her briefly."I am...." Sophie thought it was the right time to introduce herself."....Sophie" Wendy interrupted her. "David told me about you" she stopped and held her to a halt."What am I supposed to be doing?" Sophie questioned. Though, she was already getting bored but th
In the middle of the night.Sophie was wide awake. She couldn't sleep. Her recent memories kept haunting her. Alpha Jones walking majestically into their house. Prina being sent out of her. Everything was tragic and daunting. She gazed at her roommates from the top of the bunk where she was. They were all asleep. This was the perfect time to try making an escape. It would have been easier if she had Prina. Nevertheless, she had to make use of what she had left, her training. She got down from the bed slowly and quietly not to alert the others. She sneaked out of the quarter."Oh no!" she moaned and fell back inside.Everywhere was crawling with security guards. There was no way she could get out of here without being caught. But she had to. David had let her know how worse it could get. And she wouldn't want to experience that. She popped her head outside to calculate the security guards movement. She could be lucky."Are you trying to escape or run away, which of the two are you tryi
Alpha Jones got out of his room and headed into the throne room. It was a cold morning. He wanted to get ready for the day's training. He heard footsteps coming in. It was David, carrying a bag covered with dirt. It looked wet and heavy. The smiles on David's face was ironic to the bag in his hand. He grew in happiness every time he moved an inch closer to Alpha Jones. He stopped right in front of him, without saying a word. He overturned the bag and something fell on to the ground heavily. Alpha Jones noticed some blood stain on the bag. He quickly looked down. It was a head, Alpha Nolan's head.David could be brutal sometimes. He had killed him and severed his head. He brought it to Alpha Jones."That was fast" Alpha Jones scoffed."I acted on instinct. I thought he might be making move to regain his power over his pack and I was right" he smiled broadly."Then our mission there is completed. We need to find more like him" Alpha Jones asserted."Yeah, but I don't think I will be th
Sophie was served some food. She couldn't eat it. She was very afraid to trust Maggie not after what Cara did. Maggie could do worse, and still be justified."Why are you not eating your food? Lost your appetite?" Maggie challenged her."I can't eat this" she said with a muffled voice."Low to your standard?" Maggie chuckled."Why am I not dead yet?" Sophie mumbled."Because I am not going to kill you" Maggie chuckled. "If that is what is bothering you. It is high time you free your mind" she advised.Sophie couldn't believe her. That was the last thing she would. Maggie wouldn't let her live after all what her father had done to Maggie. He banished her for talking against him. And since then she had become a rogue. No pack would want to associate with a rogue. It was one of the worst experiences a werewolf could have."Why won't you kill me? If you don't, thinking I will assist you in getting my father. You are making a mistake" Sophie made it known to her.She thought she was just t
In the dark, Sophie walked through the woods. She had just sneaked out of Maggie's house. Great thing, there was a small forest like this. The breeze was cool. The whole wood was peaceful. Chirping of crickets seemed to be in order like every other thing except for her mind. She found a good place to sit. She sat down slowly. She saw some lights and noticed a car parking afar on the road. She remained calm. There was no way they could find her here."Sophie, just come out. We need to talk" Maggie yelled on top of her voice. She was already in the woods coming towards her.Sophie stood up and tried to find out which direction she was coming from but she couldn't, as Maggie had stopped talking."Talk about what really? Getting back Prina or handing me over to some men?" she asked loudly enough for her to hear."No, it is not like that" Maggie answered and became silent but Sophie had already discovered where she was.She moved slowly towards another direction."What is it like then? The
Alpha Jones parked the car in front of his Manor. He didn't bother waiting for Sophie to come down before heading inside.Sophie alighted and looked around like a stranger.Quietness, an unusual one was freely flowing in the Manor. Everyone looked sad. David was obviously sick and his sickness had infected the Manor."What is happening?" she couldn't stop herself from asking Alpha Jones. "Why is everywhere unusually quiet" she rushed after him"He is dying, that is what is happening" Alpha Jones replied curtly. "But I have to show you something first" he hurried into the throne room.Sophie wondered what he thought more important for her to see before going to David, she followed him into the throne room. She saw him already standing in front of the throne with a small, dirty, blood stained bag in his hand."And what the hell is that?" Sophie murmured to herself as she moved closer to him.He upturned the bag and a hard object made a thudding sound as it hit the floor. Sophie watched
