"There is a man out there, waiting to see you. He won't say anything unless unless you are there" David narrated, anger was audible in his voice. The said person seemed to have provoked him in some ways
"Who is he?" Alpha Jones asked slowly. He was not expecting anyone and the Mage did not foresee any visitor.
"I have no idea, Alpha" David replied curtly and headed back out.
Alpha Jones followed him to the throne room. He saw Matt, standing gallantly with his chest rising high everytime he breathed in. He was a man that seemed to have gone through a lot.
"Alpha Nemesis?" Matt gasped.
"That is not his name" David voiced out angrily.
"I'm Alpha Jones" Alpha Jones waved at David to calm him down. He sat down on his throne staring inquisitively at Matt.
"I'm Matt from Alpha Nolan's pack" he said without regulating his intense breath.
"I've heard a lot about your Alpha, why are you here?" Alpha Jones asked calmly.
"You've heard a lot? Then why are you still seated there not doing anything? Is that not what the Moon Goddess chose you for?" Matt raged like he would attack Alpha Jones on the throne.
David dashed into his front, locking eyes with him in a face off.
"David" Alpha Jones called softly. "Why are you here?" he was also angry at Matt's reaction but decided to calm down and hear him out.
He had made the decision of liberating the weak from their oppressive Alphas. But Alpha Nolan's case seemed to be different. He was not oppressing his own pack. He was raiding weaker packs.
"I have come to report him to you" Matt retorted.
"Why would you report him?" Alpha Jones requested again.
"Why won't I? He is there raiding, killing and kidnapping. I can't complain to him, he will just put an end to my life" he concluded weakly.
"Complain to him?" Alpha Jones repeated. "You must be very close to him" he chuckled. There was no way he could think of complaining to a strong and powerful Alpha like Nolan unless he was intimate with him.
"I'm his beta" he revealed and they were all shocked.
"What?" David drew out his silver sword from the sheath that always hanged around his waist.
"You are his beta?" Alpha Jones asked in amazement. He got up from his throne. "Is this a set up?. Are you trying to set us up?" he walked towards him.
Two of his security guards quickly grabbed Matt from behind while David pointed his sword to his jugular.
"No! I am here to report him!" he cried out.
"Really? Why would a beta report his Alpha to me?" Alpha Jones wondered.
"There is nothing else I can do to stop him. You are my only hope" he pleaded.
David chuckled and turned to Alpha Jones.
"You are the only hope for him to steal the Alpha's throne" David deduced.
"I don't want the throne. You can give it to anyone you want. I just want the oppression to stop. That is all what I care about" Matt was obviously frightened.
"But Alpha Nolan is the only one that can stop you from reaching the throne. Once we take him and his family out. You can handle whoever attain the position. Is that not your plan?" Alpha Jones chuckled softly. He had understood his ploy before execution.
"Won't you come back for me, if I do that?" Matt gasped.
"Maybe you already have a plan to take care of us already" David flashed his eyebrows at him.
"I don't care about the throne. I am trying to do what is right. Please" he begged.
"Do you want me to believe your Alpha didn't see you since you have embarked on the journey down here, and he won't be worried?" Alpha Jones faulted his story.
"He sent me on an errand. That is where he thinks I am. And he is wounded right now. Best time for you to attack" Matt sighed weakly.
"Alpha Jones, we can not trust him. A betrayer of his Alpha" David asserted.
"Where is the Mage?" Alpha Jones asked. "Someone get him for me" he whined.
"I'm right here with you, Alpha" the Mage appeared from nowhere with a small white cloth in his hand. He walked straight to Matt. "Let him go" he instructed the guards holding him.
Matt veered backward out of fear.
"Hold this" the Mage yelled and pointed the white cloth to him.
Matt grabbed it. He stared at the Mage cluelessly.
"Squeeze it into your fist" the Mage instructed.
Matt did as he directed immediately while staring at the Mage. He was obviously clueless as everyone else. It seemed only the Mage understood what was happening.
"Give it back" the Mage took back the cloth. He spread it out to reveal its sparkling whiteness despite the dirt in Matt's hand.
"Should we kill him?" Alpha Jones asked hastily not understanding what was going on.
"I don't think so. His intentions is as pure as the cloth in my hands" the Mage announced with a beaming smile.
Matt gasped and fell to his knees.
"He asked us to execute his own Alpha, Mage" Alpha Jones relayed to the Mage.
"You should, if his Alpha has crossed the line. That is your duty, Alpha" the Mage bowed slightly and walked away staring at the white cloth.
"We will do what you say. But till then, you will be under this roof" Alpha Jones asserted and turned to face David. "David, we are leaving by first light tomorrow. The three of us and five guards" he explained.
"I think the best time to strike is in the evening. That is when we are at the weakest" Matt suggested.
"You know your house better. We will do as you say" Alpha Jones succumbed easily.
He thought having Matt on their side would make this expedition easy and there was nothing to worry about as the Mage and his small white cloth had vindicated him
Present day.Sophie woke up in a dark cell after she felt water splashing over her. She sat up immediately. She was in shackles, she realized that as she tried moving her hands and legs. She was on the bare floor. She looked up and saw two fierce guards standing over her. Last night's experience flooded into her memory.Prina was hot with anger. She could feel her trying to override her. But she kept calm. One of the guards removed her shackles and pulled her up.Prina had finally taken over her. "Argh!" Sophie groaned hard, clenching her fist. She knew well that fighting now was not a good idea but it was too late. She headbutt the guard close to her. He fell flat on his back. He seemed weak to Sophie but he couldn't help him. This was Prina's time. She grabbed the other one and threw him to the wall. She dashed out of the cell. She felt a heavy blow at the back of her head. She fell on her face. Prina cowered and shrunk from the surface. She turned slightly to see her beater. It w
Alpha Jones walked in hurriedly. He was unsettled. He felt bad a bit about the decision he made but that was the right thing to do, he consoled himself. Sophie shouldn't be left with her wolf. She was dangerous and she would just be like her father. But the Moon Goddess was just a poor matchmaker, to have made someone like her his mate. Alpha Jones had vowed never to take any mate. Even if she was the best in all ramifications. To him, love was a weakness and a tendency to make bad decisions. It would distort judgement. And that wouldn't be good for the cause he had chosen to fight for. If he dwelled in love, he might become one of those he used to fight against. That was always his thoughts. Luckily, he had never ran into any mate until Sophie. He was certain she was the one. The expulsion of her wolf made Gate, his wolf writhed in pain but he would survive it. They would survive it. He turned around on hearing footsteps. He saw David coming in with a big smile on his face.
"Just follow me" David insisted.Sophie walked after him reluctantly. She had just gotten to the slaves' quarters after the horrible experience. She had accepted her fate and decided to make the best use of it.She retired to the slave's quarters immediately and now David had come to bother her again."Alpha Jones wants to see you, maybe you should walk like your legs are not older than your age" he said to her without looking back.Sophie caught up with him. She was optimistic. She thought Alpha Jones might have wanted to confess his feelings."Why does he want me?" she asked anxiously."He doesn't 'want' you" David emphasized. "He only wants to see you and you can ask him yourself" he shunned her."Okay" Sophie sighed and kept quiet. David seemed to have already seen her mind through her eyes. They continued walking to the throne room. Sophie's heart leapt on each step taken by her.Her eyes fell on Alpha Jones as they entered into the throne room. She kept looking at him to make h
Sophie was taken outside to the quarters. There were a lot of people there coming out of the small rooms. They were the slaves of the pack and she had become one of them. She felt ashamed as they all made her the center of their attention. All eyes were on her. She stood there cluelessly not knowing where to head."Just make yourself useful" a woman said in an unfriendly manner.Sophie didn't respond. She just kept staring at her. She wondered what they were doing or what they were supposed to be doing.Someone tapped her from behind. She turned around and meet the eyes of a smiling older woman. The woman veered off and signaled to Sophie to follow her. "I am Wendy, I am in charge of this place" she smiled at her briefly."I am...." Sophie thought it was the right time to introduce herself."....Sophie" Wendy interrupted her. "David told me about you" she stopped and held her to a halt."What am I supposed to be doing?" Sophie questioned. Though, she was already getting bored but th
In the middle of the night.Sophie was wide awake. She couldn't sleep. Her recent memories kept haunting her. Alpha Jones walking majestically into their house. Prina being sent out of her. Everything was tragic and daunting. She gazed at her roommates from the top of the bunk where she was. They were all asleep. This was the perfect time to try making an escape. It would have been easier if she had Prina. Nevertheless, she had to make use of what she had left, her training. She got down from the bed slowly and quietly not to alert the others. She sneaked out of the quarter."Oh no!" she moaned and fell back inside.Everywhere was crawling with security guards. There was no way she could get out of here without being caught. But she had to. David had let her know how worse it could get. And she wouldn't want to experience that. She popped her head outside to calculate the security guards movement. She could be lucky."Are you trying to escape or run away, which of the two are you tryi
Alpha Jones got out of his room and headed into the throne room. It was a cold morning. He wanted to get ready for the day's training. He heard footsteps coming in. It was David, carrying a bag covered with dirt. It looked wet and heavy. The smiles on David's face was ironic to the bag in his hand. He grew in happiness every time he moved an inch closer to Alpha Jones. He stopped right in front of him, without saying a word. He overturned the bag and something fell on to the ground heavily. Alpha Jones noticed some blood stain on the bag. He quickly looked down. It was a head, Alpha Nolan's head.David could be brutal sometimes. He had killed him and severed his head. He brought it to Alpha Jones."That was fast" Alpha Jones scoffed."I acted on instinct. I thought he might be making move to regain his power over his pack and I was right" he smiled broadly."Then our mission there is completed. We need to find more like him" Alpha Jones asserted."Yeah, but I don't think I will be th
Sophie was served some food. She couldn't eat it. She was very afraid to trust Maggie not after what Cara did. Maggie could do worse, and still be justified."Why are you not eating your food? Lost your appetite?" Maggie challenged her."I can't eat this" she said with a muffled voice."Low to your standard?" Maggie chuckled."Why am I not dead yet?" Sophie mumbled."Because I am not going to kill you" Maggie chuckled. "If that is what is bothering you. It is high time you free your mind" she advised.Sophie couldn't believe her. That was the last thing she would. Maggie wouldn't let her live after all what her father had done to Maggie. He banished her for talking against him. And since then she had become a rogue. No pack would want to associate with a rogue. It was one of the worst experiences a werewolf could have."Why won't you kill me? If you don't, thinking I will assist you in getting my father. You are making a mistake" Sophie made it known to her.She thought she was just t
In the dark, Sophie walked through the woods. She had just sneaked out of Maggie's house. Great thing, there was a small forest like this. The breeze was cool. The whole wood was peaceful. Chirping of crickets seemed to be in order like every other thing except for her mind. She found a good place to sit. She sat down slowly. She saw some lights and noticed a car parking afar on the road. She remained calm. There was no way they could find her here."Sophie, just come out. We need to talk" Maggie yelled on top of her voice. She was already in the woods coming towards her.Sophie stood up and tried to find out which direction she was coming from but she couldn't, as Maggie had stopped talking."Talk about what really? Getting back Prina or handing me over to some men?" she asked loudly enough for her to hear."No, it is not like that" Maggie answered and became silent but Sophie had already discovered where she was.She moved slowly towards another direction."What is it like then? The
