Natalie Grayson
Everything was a blur for the past few days. Some of the highest ranking Alphas were coming to our pack for a wild celebration where the unmated may find their mates.
It happened every year on the same day when the moon would be full and the goddess would bless many wolves with their mates and every year, I never found mine.
Call me cruel, but I wouldn't have minded not having a mate. With all the 'mine' type of scenarios, I would rather not let my life turn into a cliche movie. I was perfectly fine with the life I lived.
I had my mum, my dad, my siblings as well as a job at the library around the corner, so what more would I want? So every year when the Alphas and the unmated come to our pack, the Red Moon Pack, I would go to the library and hide there until it was all over because one thing about me was that I didn't like big events.
Honestly, being in a big crowd of hormonal people just kinda sucked, plus the smell of arousals which would fill the air was kind of disturbing.
But, I did love reading about how people found their mates, especially when it came to romance human books. I also loved reading about how our kind came to be and how the Moon Goddess was ever so kind to give us mates.
I loved how there was always another half for us to live with, but I just wanted to explore the world before finding my mate, who could turn out to be potentially be possessive and not let me go anywhere.
That was what happened to my mum, after all. My dad wouldn't let her out of his sight before they mated and had me. So you could see where my opinion on having a mate stemmed from.
In the current moment, the pack was frantically getting everything perfect. The big hall where we would be hosting the big ceremony or party was going to be filled with draperies and smooth white silk to represent the moon. Then there was going to be a big buffet and a lot of rooms for people who wanted to mate instantly.
Furthermore, there were the tables for the Alphas and their Lunas as well as tables for everyone arriving. It was one huge event and it was one of the most exciting events for everyone, especially for my sister Alice, who just turned eighteen three weeks ago, whereas I was twenty two years of age.
She was ecstatic about meeting her mate and embarrassingly told me she wouldn't mind mating on the spot. And as the elder sister I was, I smacked her on the head and told her that she was too young and she should wait until she was twenty. She had thrown me the bird before laughing along with me.
My other sister Beth, who was eleven didn't give a shit about mates and told me herself she would rather live alone than have someone constantly watching over her. I liked her spirit, even if she swore from time to time. The second youngest was Dave, otherwise known as David and he was only eight. He had told me that he really didn't care until it happened
The youngest out of all of us was little Matt who just turned five. He said he would love and cherish his mate whenever he found her. So my whole family had their own opinions about mates, and my parents who were in their forties were hopefully going to stop having kids, because every time my mother was in her heat, my dad couldn't help but put a seed in it.
Our heats came in irregular times but it was after you met your mate. You may never have your heat until some months later, or you could get it the moment you met your mate, hence why many people ‘got it on' when they first met each other at the ceremony.
While everyone was getting ready, I walked to the library and sat in my usual spot. People rarely came into the library, and if they did, itbwas usually to randomly start making out in the aisles of books, and maybe begin to take each other's clothes off until I came in and started whacking them with the heaviest book I could find, which was the history of werewolves. Maybe it would knock some knowledge into them about doing it in the library.
I grabbed a random book from the shelves, opened the pages as I inhaled the amazing scent of a book and enjoyed how it reeked of old age. It was honestly such a good smell.
As time passed by, the smell of cooked meat and vegetables filled my nostrils as the time of the Alphas and the unmated arriving was soon upon us.
After contemplating for some time about going outside, I dropped my book and rushed out of the doorway. I walked towards the hall's kitchen, allowing the scent of delicious cooked food to fill my nostrils as l took a peek at what was to be served tonight.
Rows and rows of food were lined up, ranging from a whole load of meat to the desserts and fruits, as well as the champagne and drinks on one end of the bench.
In an hour the Alphas would be here with their mateless members, and already everyone was strolling in with their fancy suits and dresses. Our pack was very rich and grew in numbers in a short time. In fact, were also rated the fifth strongest pack in all of America due to the high-rank warriors and defensive line so naturally, our pack had the fanciest clothes and had a prosperous area.
As they all started to file in, I rushed home, my feet picking up at werewolf speed as I made a dash. Once I reached the front door, I used my keys to open it and step inside. Already, my sisters were dressed up as well as my brothers.
Everyone was always invited. Every pack member, even the omegas who worked in the kitchen. I wasn't yet dressed for the occasion, so I watched as everyone hurried to get ready. My mum put on her pearls, my dad fixed his tie and my sisters made sure their dresses were wrinkle-free, plus my brothers who were trying desperately to fix their ties.
I rushed upstairs to my room quickly, determined to get dressed and do my makeup as fast as possible so that I would keep my family waiting. As I went downstairs, their eyes landed on me. My mother's eyes welled up with tears as my dad gave a look of approval, my two brothers smiled at me, while my two sisters squealed in delight and rushed to hug me.
"You look amazing!" they yelled and wrapped their dainty arms around my waist, squeezing the living life out of me.
"Okay, okay, you can let go of me now!" I breathed, trying to pry their hands off of me, but being unlucky, they wrapped their arms once again.
This is going to be a long night, I thought.
Natalie Grayson The night was full, everything and everyone were here. The music played in the background as everyone chatted amongst themselves in a delightful and happy matter. I watched how many couples found their mates within a few seconds and enveloped them in their arms, or in other cases, being dragged away in a rush to mate. The smell of arousals hit me like a tonne of bricks, my wolf calling out to me as she was like the many others, searching for their mate. Alice was gripping onto my arm when we arrived and instantly, I could tell she had found her mate. Her eyes glazed over and her nose pointed up to the air. She immediately let go of my arms and went into the crowd, disappearing from sight. I almost called out her name, but stopped myself from distracting her and looked around. In the distance, I heard some wolves howling and some Alphas introduced their newly found mate to the whole audience, but I could tell that in some of the girl's faces, they dreaded this. Ma
Nolan Walter I had been blind for as long as I can remember. My mother and father told me that I was cursed by a witch who strongly disliked Alphas and had a long feud with the werewolf world. The witch who I never knew, thought that all Alphas were possessive and always wanted what wasn't even theirs, so she cursed us, thinking that Alphas could never love. She made me blind so I could never see my mate and be vulnerable to the world. The only way to regain my sight, was for someone — preferably my mate — to tell me she loved me and mean it, not because of the mate bond, but love me with all her heart and all her soul. She was to love me for me, not because of my status. Being twenty six, one would think I would have found her, but sadly, I hadn't, nor did I even have the time. I never had time for it, and every time the Red Moon Pack hosted the unmated ceremonies, parties or gatherings, I wouldn't attend to them. I was a blind Alpha, and that made me vulnerable. It was my disa
Natalie Grayson My heart stopped for just a couple of seconds. I saw the look in his eyes as he inhaled my scent, devouring what was floating in the air, his blue eyes turning dark as if he couldn't see me. Then he turned away and inhaled more of my scent. It was captivating, and he seemed so gentle as my wolf purred in delight. And when I inhaled him in, I could sense the power radiating off him, signalling he was a high rank, he was an Alpha. Letting this set into my mind, I breathed in heavily, exhaling with a lot of force, my doubts floating in my mind as I took him in. He was going to take me away from my family. He was an Alpha, a strong male who was a force to be reckoned with, and no one was to ever defy an Alpha, let alone match him as an equal. Even a Luna couldn't pass as an equal. Lunas were meant to serve. I am going to be a Luna. The thought settled in and my wolf hummed with the power she was going to obtain once he marked her. As a Luna, one would be a force to b
Natalie Grayson l instantly froze after I heard my mate's name. Alpha Nolan, one of the most feared Alphas, yet something gave off a weird vibe as I tried to recall something important about him that I had forgotten. I shrugged off the thought and stared at my mother, who still covered her mouth in awe as she regained her posture, and I knew she was deeply affected by the power that radiated off him as he stood there with unseeing eyes. His eyes did not meet my father's and I faltered at the lack of sight that he seemed to have, and I managed to recall the one thing that I should have remembered when I first met him."You are blind," I blurted out and it made me look at him closely.A wolf without eyesight was vulnerable and weak, yet he turned out to be a strong and feared Alpha, which obviously meant that his other senses doubled. Alpha Nolan turned around and looked at me, giving me a somewhat sympathetic frown as kept his gaze on me. "Yes, I am," he said, then sighed before t
Natalie Grayson Raya was howling at me to get back up, and her cries and whimpers were all I heard as a black abyss just took over my surroundings. She and I could hear the faint mutters of voices, but our eyes didn't open. I didn't know how many days or hours I had left in this world, and I had nothing other than my wolf to comfort me. In fact, the thoughts in my head just kept repeating the same word over and over. Betrayal, it chanted and chanted until the word itself was imprinted in my mind.I had never heard of a situation where someone marked their mate forcefully, and I might as well have been the first one to be in the situation. Not only was it a sin to mark your mate forcefully, but it meant that the person who did that had a lack of self-control, and it would reflect badly on the people associated with that particular wolf. Seeing that my mate was an Alpha and he marked me forcefully, it would reflect badly on his pack and his family. It would also bring shame to the
Nolan WalterMy wolf was howling at me to go back as the voice of my mate when she was angry at me was repeating itself in the back of my mind. To say I was feeling guilty was an understatement, but my wolf was not. He was growling at me to go back and teach her a lesson, but I couldn't hurt my mate more than I already had and the bond was half done. I could feel all her feelings like they were my own, so I felt the slow burning of anger and hurt etched in my heart because it was in her heart. I could feel all her pain and it was totally my fault. I didn't have any control over my wolf or my body so I forcefully marked her, and something that should have been sacred had been treated as if it was just a bag of trash, and now she was dealing with something that I couldn't see. When I saw her, when I touched her, regained some of my sight back. However, it was not like the sight I thought it would be. It was if the Moon Goddess gave me a new gift and allowed me to see the auras or fee
Natalie Grayson I was granted three days from the Alpha himself to recuperate and say my goodbyes to both my family and fellow pack members. In my mother's words, the mate celebration could have never been better, since I had found my mate. She said even though he was well… not really nice and kind of brash but I found him nevertheless. More than thirty members of our pack, both male and female had found their mates, so we would be getting new members and losing old ones too. Alice would also be leaving in a couple of days too and luckily for her, her mate was kind and understanding, and he had allowed her to stay for a whole week so that he could meet our family and get to know us before they left. She was really lucky. And as for my mate, I hadn't seen him since he ran out of the hospital. However, I had caught whiffs of his scent around the area so he must have been staying in one of the rooms in the packed guest house. Several of his she-wolves had found their mates here, so
Natalie Grayson The day that I had been dreading had arrived. My bags were packed in a small corner of my room, along with a couple of possessions that didn't fit into the bags. My room was almost empty, the bed was stripped bare, and my closets were empty. However, I left a few belongings behind such as a few stuffed animals, a couple of underwear and clothes, plus a few pictures, just in case I ended up running back here and hopefully stayed here again. My heart was heavy as I gathered all my bags to bring them downstairs. My parents were weeping as they joined me to carry down my bags, and my siblings anxiously waited in the living room. My friends were waiting in the dining room because we had invited Taylor and Drew over to say their final goodbyes as we waited for the clock to strike 10 AM. We had a quiet talk about memories we were so fond of, and my parents joked about my siblings and I as my two good friends joined them in reminiscing on memories about me when we were litt
