“My name is Edna, ma’am.” She smiled wiggling her fingers nervously.
Kara paused and swallowed hard. She felt that there was a reason she had thought of speaking to Edna so she asked. “Where are you from? Are your family here in Wizzletown?”
“No ma’am. I am from another city in the West from this country. My family lives there but I came to Wizzletown in search of a better life since my family is poor and we can hardly afford to feed.”
