Chapter 68: Lost

Covered by the forest and fog, I couldn't sense time. I don't know how long we've been wandering here. All I know is that my lips are starting to dry up, and the wounds on my legs are aching.

"What happens?" Alfine suddenly spoke up, breaking the silence that had been so far.

Hearing him ask, Lagan also turned around and asked enthusiastically. “If something happens, shout it out loud; I can't see you two in these conditions."

I paused for a moment, then answered with a little difficulty. "It's okay; I got bitten by an insect."

Alfine said nothing more; after a moment, he suddenly spoke. “We passed this place once.”

Lagan froze, his voice hoarse with fatigue. "What did you say?"

“I said we passed this place; when I stopped a while ago, I marked this rock unmistakable.” Alfine crouched low, pointing to a scarlet X carved into the rough stone face.

This surprised me; we only stopped at this place for about two minutes for a drink. Lagan and I only had time to gasp, not expecting Alfine
