Chapter 77: The line between good and evil

“NO…” I yelled until my throat hurt.

I was like a fool waking up from a trance; my eyes restored their color, and the dark red pupils gradually disappeared.

I turned pale when I saw Alfine's loss; I shouted a warning to Alfine. “Alfine, to your left.”

Alfine rolled his eyes and lay down just in time to dodge a fatal blow from Caser.

After Lagan had recovered a little, he approached me; he did not immediately tell me about my abnormal state a few minutes ago. Even so, I could easily see the doubt and astonishment in his eyes, but I overlooked that detail because I thought he was worried about Caser.

I was surprised to see Lagan's clothes in disarray and the wound on his chest; it was like being stuck in a claw. “What's wrong with you, Mr. Lagan? Caser attacked you?”

Lagan raised his head, looked at me thoughtfully, then nodded heavily.

"The wound is too deep." I frantically searched for a clean towel in my backpack and returned. “Let me bandage you temporarily.”
