Asher didn't move back, despite Rylan's presence.

He knew he was there. How long my mate had been watching I don't know, but something tells me Asher was fully aware of it the entire time. He's like that. He enjoys getting a rise out of people, seeing them react. The real tip off that he knew was the smirk that continued to play on his lips, as he looked down at me, not bothering to acknowledge Rylan.

"What's going on?" Rylan asks softly, sounding lost, distant. I'm stuck between Asher and a bench top, with neither seeming to be going anywhere any time soon.

The silence is deadly, before Asher chuckle's, golden eyes gleaming as he says, "Dawn and I were just catching up on things. It's been awhile since her and I talked, Rylan. I can promise you nothing else is going on."

Asher didn't sound convincing on any level. He has no interest in continuing the conversation between us, or at the very least, in preserving the respect between him and the Alpha of Purity. At this point, h
