Chapter 28. THE VOICE IN MY HEAD

ATHENA'S POV

As I slowly opened my eyes, the harsh sunlight pierced through the curtains, intensifying the pounding in my head. Groaning, I attempted to sit up, only to be greeted by a chorus of protests from my protesting muscles. Every inch of my body seemed to ache, as if I'd run a marathon on rocky terrain.

Peeling myself from the tangled sheets, I winced with each movement. My limbs felt like they had a personal vendetta against me. The faint scent of last night clung to my skin, a mix of sweat and a lot of sex.

My hand extended to the other side of the bed, only to find it empty. A frown marked my face upon noticing the absence of Xavier. He left? The sheets were still warm, so it only means it's been a few minutes since he left.

He can't leave, he likes us. Didn't you see how he was with us the whole night? My subconscious mocked me.

Yeah, but what if I wasn't good? It was my first time. What if he didn't like it?
