Chapter 55. THE SECRET VISIT

ATHENA'S POV

The sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows across the dense forest. I moved silently through the underbrush. Clad in a cloak that concealed me, I ventured out, my steps careful and calculated. The cloak served as a shroud, hiding my identity as I departed from the safety of my pack territory.

In the heart of the woods, a moonlit clearing served as the meeting point. Maggie awaited my arrival. I had sent her a letter earlier that I had to meet her and discuss something of grave importance. She replied, sending back another letter that she too had something to inform me which needed attention.

I embraced her, feeling the familiar comfort of our connection. It had been too long since we last saw each other.

“What is it?” I spoke, cutting the formalities, knowing we didn't thave much time.
