Chapter Seventy-Three

Alex’s POV

I watched her as she left and a troubled sigh left my lips. Nana suddenly came to my door and I moved back due to shock.

“She looked very hurt and was crying. What did you do to my baby girl?” She asked me with a deep frown on her face.

She has always adored Bertha at such a young age. People would mistake me as the friend and her as the grand daughter at times. It was really a good memory we could all think of.

“I just told her the truth.” I said to grandma and she nodded with a sigh.

“I told you that you should have told her when you both were teenagers. That would have been better. You are almost thirty now and she has been in love with you her whole life. How do you expect her to feel about it?” She asked me.

“I know that what I did was wrong Nana. Don’t rub salt to my wounds.” I told her.

“What wounds? The one that have wounds just left now.”
