The walk down to the Griffin’s home was super exhausting. I just wanted it to be done. Yet, the more I walked to the house, the more I felt like I should be somewhere else right now.

I cried softly, releasing the pent-up emotions that had been holding me hostage. I had been so rude to Mike. I shouldn’t have done that. I shouldn’t have made him feel so awful because he was looking out for me. But, what could I have done? His closeness to me will only hurt him.

I had no idea how to get Marcus off my back. I had to that to protect the Griffin’s; to protect Mike. Now, I don’t even know what to do. It was so frustrating being so clueless about things like this.

I kicked the leaf off my path, and then my eyes narrowed on a stall that sold candy floss and other items. I could get something sweet to make my nerves slightly better.
