The evening was already on us, but we could easily see our surroundings. It wasn’t too dark yet. James was walking more sluggishly as the time dragged on. I was a bit tired.

No matter how fast I had gotten home, I realised it was because of my adrenaline. The truth was that the warehouse was too far from the house, and we should have gone back with my bike. But, that wasn’t with me. It was in the warehouse.

“I think you’re tired of walking,” James observed.

I laughed. “No, it’s just that we aren’t making much progress walking like this. We are still far from home. It would be nice if we could run home.” I said calmly.

James smiled. “I know you this place more than I could ever know, but with the latest things going on, I think we should walk slowly.”

“No, the hunters would be out at any moment, and the last thing I want is for s to bring attention to ourselves. They would get suspicious if they see us hanging around the outskirts of town by this time of the night. I
