Bob couldn’t believe they were actually gone; Alex took Mateo when he wasn’t looking and left. Granted, Bob could probably find Alex, just as easily as Alex found him. But what about Deonna? It was either save the baby or save Deonna.Bob had to admit, at one point he couldn’t have cared less if the slave died. She was just somebody he enjoyed toying with. When she first appeared on the farm, he was instantly attracted to her weirdly. She wasn’t somebody he could be seen with, or even grow to love, but she was somebody who looked interesting enough to want to fuck.Despite the rules that the Roessler family had about not having sex with dirtball wolves and other forms of help, Bob still wanted to have his way with this creature. She was timid and frightened, yet beautiful in her own way. She was supposed to be the weakest on the slave farm, but she was outspoken, and it didn’t seem like she cared what happened to her.Alex was always the level-headed of the two and told Bob to leave t
The kingdom’s army was getting ready for battle; they obviously had no idea that the war was because of a slave and the slave’s baby, but they were ready to fight alongside Marlon. He even managed to get some of the kingdom’s strongest wolves to join the army in battle. The kingdom had heard rumors of a slave, but Marlon managed to convince them that they were just rumors and that the only slave there was ended up attending the noblemen’s school in disguise and was caught. Bob was seen taking her into the woods and killing her; there’s been no sign of the slave since so nobody questioned anything more. However, the duke is arriving with his army and is wanting to overthrow Marlon, the highest-ranked nobleman. The kingdom won’t allow that to happen; especially because some of the nobles in the kingdom want that ranking and don’t want the duke to end up with it.With Deonna being a prisoner in his dungeon, this should steer the duke, or at least the king, away from the idea that Marlon
I was gone before he could say anything more. I wasn’t sure if I even knew how to turn into a full wolf, but I knew I had to try; I needed to find my son. I could feel him, and I knew he was still alive. My body was shaking as I ran; I couldn’t remember the last time I actually ran like this. I hadn’t had the willpower to run this fast in a long time.I spent so long being trapped by chains and now I was free; I was actually free. I felt freer than ever. My wolf was exploding with excitement as we stepped outside. I felt the cold breeze on my features, and it felt different than it had since I left the commoner village. This was the air that now belonged to me; I was free.I leaped through the garden, I took in a breath and told my wolf to come forth to me. I felt my body transitioning messily. I felt my bones forming into the shape of a wolf and I braced myself for the pain that was about to come with it. I screamed and stopped running as my body transformed itself. The first transfo
Marlon watched as Deonna went towards the woods; he had already told the guards to let her go. He wasn’t sure what else to do; as soon as others around the kingdom saw her, they would know she wasn’t a prisoner and that he let her go. That would confirm the rumor of the relationship between them. But he didn’t care; Deonna was right when she said that she needed to protect Mateo. He wanted to protect Mateo as well; he would never deny Deonna the opportunity to protect her son. He just wished he could be there to protect Deonna, but he needed to be prepared for when the duke arrived with his army. His army was getting ready for battle, but he was afraid it wasn’t going to be enough. He needed an alternate plan, and he think he knew exactly what he needed to do.But first, there was something he needed to take care of. He trusted his maids and the help around the manor; he didn’t think the ones he currently had would betray him. Beatrice had been his head maid for generations and even t
I was back in my human form, and I had Mateo in my arms; he started calming down instantly after I picked him up and held him. I pressed him firmly to my chest and allowed the tears to fall from my eyes and over the top of his head. My body was trembling as I thought about everything that had just happened in a matter of hours. My adrenaline was coming down and I could feel my body aching as my new wounds flared up; not to mention the soreness of my bones from transition.Petra was dead; I watched Bob kill her in cold blood. His teeth went right into her neck, and she fell into the river creek almost immediately. I couldn’t say that I felt bad about her death; I mean, she tried to kill me on a couple of different occasions and was about to kill my son. She had it coming to her, and I was glad to see that she was going to rot where she belonged. Now, Bob was after Alex. The two brothers went head-to-head; I wasn’t sure if either of them was going to survive the battle with one another
“I have direct orders from the king to release the slaves,” Marlon said, sizing up one of the guards that were at the slave farm. For a moment, the guard wasn’t looking as though he was buying it; he knew these guards well enough to know that they weren’t the brightest. The guards also had no reason to not believe Marlon; Marlon was known to be one of the most racist and fiercest noblemen. No guards would dare go against him, but then again it was weird that he was requesting the slaves be freed. It appears the rumors hadn’t reached the farm about Marlon’s relationship with Deonna and the child they had together. The guards looked amongst each other as Marlon approached them; Kamala stayed in the woods, but she was ready to go in for an attack if needed. She was going to help him get the slaves out of the woods undetected and safely. She knew the woods well, considering she’s been hiding out in them for a long time. She had told Marlon that she was once on the slave farm, but she was
I had never seen so many slaves and commoners running through the kingdom and attacking before. It was nearly a blood bath. The king and the duke had their men firing their firearms and killing people on contact. The sounds of the explosions were ear-shattering and Mateo was screaming in my arms. The slaves fighting were so young; they were fresh from the farms. I noticed some familiar faces of those she bunked with during my time on the slave farm. I saw mostly unfamiliar faces though; not all of them were from the farm. There were a lot of older slaves that were from different villages and even commoners as well.I was amazed at the turnout of everyone wanting to fight for their freedom. I couldn’t believe, out of all wolves, Marlon was the one who made this happen. He emerged from the woods with an army of slaves and commoners, and they were ready to fight. None of them cared if they died while fighting; they just wanted their rights back. They outnumbered the duke and king’s armie
I woke up feeling as though I was punched in the face repeatedly. Blood was dripping from my features and pooling on the cold concrete ground around me. I was no longer chained from my neck, neck, and legs, but my arms were still cuffed.I struggled to sit up and gather my surroundings. I was in a concrete cage-like cell; the area smelled of mildew and feet. It kind of reminded me of the dungeon in the Roessler manor, but more open and less wet.Kamala was staring at me from the corner of the cell; her body was trembling as she sat with her knees pressed against her chest. She had tears running down her features and she had some bruising along her jawline. There were no windows, so I had no idea the time of day and I wasn’t sure how long we were here. But from the looks of Kamala’s fair complexion and thinned body, I could say we were down here for a while.“I thought you were going to die…” she whispered as I adjusted my eyes to the darkened lighting.“Can’t take me out that easily,”
