Ava's POV

I sprinted to his bedside as soon as he called my name and my heart raced as I stroked his hair like I would to any of my kids.

“Hey”

“Ava,” he smiled as he tried to sit upright

“No, don’t! you’re injured.”

“And don’t you think I know? See, I need to be up and moving once the external injuries are healed.”

“And how about the internal ones?”

“Ava, don’t you know the healing process starts from the inside?.”

“Oh, yeah. I forgot.”

“How won’t you? you’re even more stressed than me- the injured person.”

“That’s not fair to me! Do you know how worried I was? Do you know how hard I cried? every time i looked at you lying on the bed, i couldn’t help but tell myself that i was responsible for your predicament”

“Ava, This was bound to happen, and I’m glad it happened sooner rather than later.”

“What do you mean?”

“Allow me to explain. Aiden and I were bound to butt heads at any time, and your presence in the equation just hastened the process.”
