Ava's POV I got to the Mariana which was the location Aiden had sent me, and honestly, I wasn't in love with the external features of "The Mariana." The exterior was quite understated, lacking the charm or allure I usually seek in a restaurant. Its faded sign hinted at a once-vibrant establishment, now weather-worn and slightly neglected. The paint on the walls seemed to have lost its luster, carrying a dull, off-white hue. The windows, though clean, didn't showcase anything enticing; they were tinted and unadorned, leaving no glimpse of what the inside looked like. The architecture felt outdated, lacking the modern appeal that usually draws me in. A couple of wilted potted plants near the entrance attempted to add some greenery but only highlighted the overall lack of care. Overall, the ambiance projected a sense of mediocrity that didn't align with my preferences for an inviting dining experience but I decided to not judge a book by its cover. ‘tsk I thought Aiden could do better’
LOGAN'S POVAiden was cheap and that was an established fact. I was glad that this whole saga was coming to an end pretty soon and that life was going to return to normal. We had all been through a lot with Ava having the lion's share, being at the forefront. Like Aiden said, the gala was coming up and I still hadn't received my invitation and apart from that, Ava had not gotten home yet. I stood up and went downstairs to get myself a drink when the doorbell rang. I turned towards the door and it rang again. I didn't move because I knew the housekeeper was going to open it up so I continued what I was doing. The bell rang a third time and there was still no response so I decided to answer it myself. I opened the door but there was no one there, only a Royal Blue box. I picked up the box, and it felt fancy in my hands. The royal blue color shimmered like a deep, calm ocean. The box was smooth, like touching silk, and had a golden trim that added a touch of elegance. Opening it, a burst
LOGAN'S POV The day had finally come, the day when everything would fall in its place and when the next level to this game was going to be opened. The gala was set to begin at four PM tonight which meant we had nine hours to get ready and leave the house. I woke up and decided to do my workout session in the house as I didn't want to get attacked again and I wasn't in the mood to beat anyone up. My usual waking up time was six am and for Ava, I didn't know because even if she was up, she wasn't going to leave the room till around eight probably. I picked up my bottle, went downstairs to fill out and headed over to the gym. My gym had an array of workout gear that turned my space into a fitness haven. Dumbbells and barbells lined the rack, their weights promising challenge and progress. The bench press stood sturdy, inviting me to push my limits. In the corner, parallettes waited for bodyweight exercises, while the Smith machine offered guided lifts for a full workout. Pull-up b
AVA'S POV "You can open your eyes now" As soon as I did, I noticed that Maureen and Maxine were crying, and I was confused as to why they were crying. "What is causing you all to go into tears? What kind of thing took place? "It's okay, Ava; you shouldn't be so concerned. Simply put, we are awestruck by the amazing beauty that you possess."I let out a breath of relief and continued by saying, "Come on ladies, you both scared me!" This was Maxine speaking on behalf of the two of them, and she said, "We're sorry, we didn't mean to, but the truth is that you look like an angel. Will you kindly turn around? As I stood in front of the mirror, I was the one who couldn't believe how they had modified my appearance without being excessive and without obliterating any natural kind of beauty that I possessed. They chose for a daring design that centred around smokey eyes for my face, and it was very effective. My eyes were surrounded by a mesmerising and seductive look that was created b
Ava's POV"As some of you know I am Logan, Beta of the Nightingale pack…"The question "Logan," which I murmured in his ear, "what's going on?" Despite the fact that he did not respond, he gripped my hands and squeezed them tightly. "And this stunning woman standing next to me is Ava Silverpelt, and it just so happens that she is my companion for the celebration coming up tonight. She is looking for a partner, and I thought this would be a good location to begin her search because I am aware that many of you are still looking for your partners. To put it another way, you are free to chat to her, but only while I am not present with her. While he was making that revelation, he let go of his glass and the fork, took my hands, and brought me back to the table where we were sitting. "Logan, we need to talk, NOW!" "But Ava, we can't leave now." "I didn't say we were leaving, but if you refuse to come with me, I'll have to leave!" He gazed at me for a bit before moving to allow me to
Ava's POVIndeed, it was official! There was just one thing that was off, and that was Logan. My friendship with Aiden had already begun, and things had been going well over the past few weeks. Since the conclusion of the gala, he had been behaving in a bizarre manner, and it all began after the event had concluded. Despite the fact that it appeared as though he was jealous, I was unsure of the reason why he was so envious. He told people to come for me because he believed that the best man should be the one to have me. As back as I could remember, he encouraged people to come for me. Only because it brought me one step closer to accomplishing my objective and fulfilling my mandate did I give my consent to it. Every day, I was inundated with gifts and proposals from potential suitors. Even when Logan moved me into his home, I continued to get gifts and proposals and this was the one negative aspect of the situation. Things were going well, and life was quite wonderful. I had comple
Logan's POVToday was the day of the meeting and since I was in charge, I had an idea of how the meeting was going to go. The only thing I had to perfect was blending the team members well enough so that no problems or complaints would be heard at all. I woke up by six as usual and this time around, Ava wasn't sleeping or in the gym, she had left the house by the time I came out of my room at abou six thirty. One thing I had come to understand as I got to know Ava better was this; if there was work to be done, she was going to get it done. And then the nature of her job doesn't even allow for wastage of time and like she'll always tell me, "one minute can either save a life or result in the loss of a life." That morning, I finished all I had to do and since Francis was on leave, I had to make breakfast for myself which was basically just cereal and for Ava, I toasted some bread and took avocado and whatever she would need to make the avocado ready to eat with toast. I left the hous
Ava's POV"Enough!" As I stood up, I repeatedly banged my palms down on the table. "I had enough of it! The tone and manner in which you have spoken about me is completely inappropriate, and none of you here have any right to do so. Despite the fact that I am right here, you are all squabbling about me as if I were a dog whose ownership you want to claim, and I do not enjoy any of you doing so!"I felt an overwhelming sense of rage towards everyone who had spoken about me. When it came to Aiden, I didn't really care, but I was upset, and Logan was the one who owned the majority of my wrath. "Logan, out, Now!" Despite the fact that he appeared to be feeling a little amount of regret as he stared at me, I was still required to express my emotions to him. "What exactly was with that? A proper explanation is what I require!? "Ava, this is not the place for an explanation, but I promise you'll get to know in due time." I am not interested in hearing that at all! Not only am I not a mo
