The Strong attraction

The Uriel Kingdom was one of the known Werewolf kingdoms among the twelve werewolf kingdoms. Today, a grand feast was organized to celebrate the 18th birthday of the princess of Uriel Kingdom, Winter Uriel.

Winter looked at herself in the mirror. The light royal purple gown made with silk fabric with puffed lacy sleeves around the wrists, perfectly fit her body. The pearl necklace around her neck had the most precious pearls in it. The diamond tiara on her head further embellished her princess look.

However, Winter's face was expressionless. Being the daughter of the werewolf king, she had everything except love. Her father, King Ezkiel, abused Winter since childhood. Not only he, but the entire kingdom hated her.

The reason for their hatred was the unexpected death of their Luna. Everyone blamed Winter for her mother's death. She was seen with eyes of disgust.

However, it was not Winter's fault that her mother died. It was an accident and she happened to be a part of it. Her mother's death was more traumatic for her than for the people of her kingdom.

Today's feast was not either organized to celebrate her coming of age, but a bigger dirty motive was hidden behind it.

King Ezkiel wanted to sell off his own daughter to the neighboring kingdom's nobles so that a peaceful relationship would be maintained between them.

Thinking all this, Winter's eyes filled with tears and she remembered her mother. "I miss you, Mother," she said in an extremely low voice.

The door opened and an old lady, Lady Emma walked in. With a stoic expression on her, she asked, "Is Princess Winter ready?"

Winter took a deep breath and turned to look at Lady Emma.

"Yes. I am ready," Winter said and put on a fake smile on her lips.

Hiding the pain underneath that smile, she entered the grand hall where everyone was present.

King Ezkiel, who was holding the glass of wine in his hand, looked in the direction of his daughter.

"King Ezkiel's daughter has grown into a fine woman," one of the nobles said with a smirk on his lips.

Winter gazed at her father, who was surrounded by the nobles whom she had seen for the first time. They didn't look lesser than barbarians about whom she had read in the books. She lowered her gaze and slowly walked to her father.

Stopping in front of her father, Winter curtsied to him and then stood straight. However, she kept her gaze on the red carpet on the floor.

"A very happy 18th birthday to the Princess of Uriel," the same noble said.

"Thank you," was all could Winter reply.

Ezkiel told the nobles that they should take their respective seats around the tables. The nobles bowed to him while the King went to the other side to sit on the throne. Winter felt alone and isolated. Her father didn't wish her and it upset her.

She thought to walk around and somehow, succeeded in hiding among all those people. Even though, it was an occasion for her, when her own father wasn't interested in this celebration, then why would others bother? However, some of the people would wish her and she would thank them with a tiny and fake smile.

Lady Emma asked Winter not to roam around and stay near her father.

"I don't like the presence of nobles around Father. It makes me uncomfortable." Earlier, their mere gazes made it unbearable for Winter to stay close to her father.

"Princess Winter is supposed to get married soon. The King may get furious at her later," Emma elucidated her.

Winter didn't want to get married. When those nobles looked so terrifying, what would their kind would be like? The mere thought of it sent shivers down her spine.

However, she could not either express these thoughts in front of her father. Winter had not forgotten the slap that she got three days ago just because she asked her father why he hated her.

A servant whispered something in Lady Emma's ear and she had to excuse herself.

Winter looked at the people smiling and wondered when she would be happy.

At that moment, she got a strange scent. She never felt such a thing ever before. Her eyes moved around the grand hall to find its source.

Winter walked ahead gradually as the scent kept getting stronger. She halted in her steps when her eyes landed on a man coming from the main entrance of the grand hall. That aura of his would make any woman go weak on his knees.

The moment this strange man's emerald green eyes landed on her, she knew he was his mate. The strong attraction she felt toward the man, filled her with a euphoric feeling. Winter's heart palpitated against her chest and she continued to stare at him, forgetting she was the center of attention today.

The dark expression on his face did not make him look scary, instead, it made him look appealing for some reason.

Her view was blocked when a group of elite men and women came in her direction. They were also from the neighboring kingdom, where Winter was supposed to get married, and with that, she lost his mate's view.

She walked ahead to search for him, but she could not find him. The strong scent was no longer present and it panicked Winter's heart.

Before she could look more for that man, her father placed his hand on her shoulder.

"Princess Winter, come with me," Ezkiel said and wearing a fake smile on his lips. She turned around along with her father and looked at the noble, who had earlier given wishes for her birthday.

"Why, Father?" Winter inquired.

"Because a formal introduction is required. King Esther has sent his uncle to find out if you are suitable enough for him. He could not come here because of a matter. That's why you do not have to make any mistakes. Keep this in mind. Your marriage with King Esther is the only thing which you can do for me. So, do not make any mistakes, or else you will forget to see the sun for days," Ezkiel threatened his daughter.

"I understood, Father," Winter said and again unhappiness surrounded her.

She tightly gripped the sides of her gown as she heard strange noises, the shouting of the people. Her father also halted to hear the screams of the people.

"What's happening, Father?" Winter asked when Ezkiel let go of her. He walked ahead when in front of him a body came flying with the hand ripped apart.

Winter screamed to see the corpse in the blood, and within seconds, everyone started running to save their lives. Winter fell to the floor as she got bumped into the people.

Winter tried standing up when someone from behind pushed her and her head banged against the floor. Her vision got clouded and she lost consciousness.
