Earlier…

The moment Lucien walked away from Lilith, he retired back to his throne room and sat on it to think for a bit.

Sooner than he'd expected, Dargak marched in when Red had opened up the door for him.

The moment Red opened the door and Dargak walked in, he smiled to himself before shutting the door.

"Alpha." Dargak greeted, lowering his head and his sword in respect for the king. Lucien then waved his hands in return even though his face wasn't looking at Dargak directly, but elsewhere.

"Alpha, I believe you heard from the slave princess, an innocent man has been killed to nothing."

Dargak really refrained himself from saying more than that, because he was really angry. So angry that Lucien had trusted another person instead of him.

"If you had assigned that duty to me, maybe I would have gotten the real culprit instead." He bursted out.

Lucien shifted his gaze to stare at Dargak, and once Dargak received his cold gaze, he immediately kept his mouth shut and stood upright, lowe
