RICKY

“You bastard!” I shouted at Bane.

The thug threw himself at me and I maneuvered him and threw him out of the window. I jumped out of the window and used his body as a support. I ran over to Melo and carried her in my arms. I turned to Bane but he wasn’t there anymore. He had run away.

“Melo, why the hell did you do this to yourself?” I asked, wearing a sad look on my face.

“Ricky—Ricky,” Melo said as she tapped my chest.

“I can hear you Melo. Tell me what you want to tell me.”

“Ki—Ki—ki—”

Melo stopped talking and her hands went cold. She died.

“Melo! Melo you can’t die! I’ll take out the spear, Melo. I promise you that I won’t let you die. I’ll take you to the doctor and you’ll be fine. C’mon Melo, stay with me. I need you to stay awake for me,” I said as I gently tapped her cheek. “Melo, please don’t sleep right now.”

Laura placed her hands on my shoulder and shook her head. “She’s gone, Ricky. There’s nothing we can do, Ricky.”

Laura said as she closed Melo’s eyes. “Rest now,
