Chapter 34 A Kindhearted Mate

The day after Alita was taken, we received another package with another antidote. Only this one had a note that said, “This one is permanent. Thanks for the girl.”

I’ve never heard my mom cry as loud as she did that day. Her wails are something that will haunt me.

I blame myself. I let my guard down. We never should’ve had that big of a party and now Alita’s disappearance is on my hands.
