The road to Helena’s recovery was indeed long, but she was responding well to the treatments. It was so hard to imagine that hell she endured, her wounds made me feel powerless for a moment.

If it wasn’t for Edith, I would have snapped Elmer’s neck, disregarding the fact that he was an immortal. This attack had questioned my integrity as Helena’s mate. How could I promise her a life full of happiness when I was unable to protect her in danger.

However, I totally forgot my worthlessness in front of Helena’s psychotic breaks, she was broken by emotional pain. Doctors and witches discussed her condition and reached a conclusion.
