Chapter 31: A Friend

EMILY:

When I woke up the next morning, I freshened up and came downstairs for breakfast. I was expecting to see Christian be seated and waiting for Lilith and me, but the dining table was empty.

I halted right in front of it and looked around recalling that Christian didn't come back home yesterday. I waited for him till I decided to go to bed.

"Did Christian come home yesterday?" I asked a maid who was busy dusting and cleaning the living room. She shook her head in negation, and I instantly became worried.

I reached for the stairs and headed back to the room to get my phone, and when I did, I instantly placed a call. After several trials, it wasn't going through.

He had his life to live and he could go anywhere he wanted to, but why the hell was I worried about where he could be right now? I was even more worried that he didn't come home last night.

The hospital was the only place I could check.
