Chapter 27

I worried one night and could not sleep. Darian confiscated my phone. I'm afraid he'll see a text from Titus, and either or Titus accidentally calls me while Darian holds my phone. So I purposely broke my phone.

I knew that would make Darian more suspicious of me, but I had no choice.

I stayed in my room for a day, completely unaware of the news outside. Maya brought food to my room on time. Whenever she appeared, I asked her about the situation outside and if there was any shocking news.

Maya looked confused and said there was no hot news today. She saw my face was not good and comforted me with a few words. I smiled wryly, but inside, I couldn't be reassured.

That evening, Maya informed me that Darian would not be returning. I wasn't surprised because I knew Darian wouldn't be around if he hadn't determined that I was the one who poisoned him.

Luckily, Darian didn't search my room. If he finds the poison tools in my room, I have a hundred mouths that can't be explained.
